Play's own brand is only £11.99, Sandisc are £14.99 on ebay and only £18.99 here http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/SanDisk/SanDisk-8GB-Video-HD-SDHC---120-Minutes

People, please make sure you understand what Extreme III stands for 30 MB/s transfer rate which is not there with 8gb SDHC cards under tenner.
This used with DSLR cameras will make fast data transfer from your camera to card, perticularly useful if you are clicking photos in contineous shooting mode, this won't slow you down

You are right as that's a class 4 card but you can get Mymemory's own Class 6 sdhc card for a tenner delivered, if you need it you can use the money saved to buy a memory card reader.

For this exact package it's not a bad deal (I haven't voted on this deal either way) but you are paying partially for the name.

This is class 6 card, as it appears on the image + i dont think Mymemory card will give you 30 MB/s read/write specs

This card with the MicroMate Reader is unlikely to be the newer 30MB/s version.

Play were doing the extreme 4gb sdhc with reader for £12.49, some say its best not to store all your photo's on one card in case it fails plus you end up with a spare reader if you do it that way.

Each to their own and voted hot

So would I! although I'll probably end up waiting for the price to fall a bit more.

I'm looking to replace an existing class 6, 8GB SDHC card with something faster (and preferably bigger) as the one I have simply isnt fast enough for the camera's HD video mode - using zoom while filming outside can fill the camera's buffer in as little as a 1 to 2 minutes, and you then have to wait for the SDHC card to catch up before you can start recording again.

For a card to be labeled class 6 it only has to sustain a minimum write speed of 6MB/s, and if you check reviews, most of the cheap class 6 SDHC cards only achieve around a 6 - 8 MB/sec write speed - eg http://www.digitalversus.com/article-388-2439-161.html

According to the Play site the Sandisk extreme III's minimum sequential write speed is 20MB/ sec, more than double the speed of my current card.

Not in the same league - According to the review linked to in my post above the transcend card only achieves about 6MBps write speed, less than one third the speed of the sandisk one (if play's 20MB/s is accurate).

this is another classic example of someone posting a ferrari for £25,000

then all the village idiots saying yeah, but you can get a KA for £5000...

If you can live with it being the slower class 4, the same size, make, with the reader, is £16.69 at 7dayshop
Link Here
Yes, i know this is slower than the one posted above, but its good enough for me. :)

Voted this offer hot, as if you want the op's card, its a good price

7dayshop also sell the reader on ifs own for £3.99

Cheap does not mean good..

"some say its best not to store all your photo's on one card in case it fails"
They used to say that with 16MB and every size onwards - Sandisk rarely fail.

If you have a top notch DSLR, why downgrade it with an inferior card. This is a good deal.
Voted hot...
