Yup, have to agree - only buy one if you're not in any sort of hurry...
#6
Im also very suspicious of the brittle plastic used - strange considering SanDisk make some really well made drives too.
#7
slow, but not necessarily cold, it depends on what you're going to use it for: documents and the like should be fine; transferring movie files will be slow, but do something else while you're waiting if you're so inclined.

Can you or anyone else recommend a good quality one then? I don't mind paying (a bit) more. I've been in the market for a while, but finding any concrete info online seems to be surprisingly difficult.

good price and versatile - for ad hoc files.

Very slow, but why wouldn't you buy 1x 16Gb for £13.69 here?

All depends if you want one or if you need 2... maybe for 2 people..

Agree this is slower than my 2gb i have had five years............ does your head in its that slow suppose it would be ok for small files or photos but i would avoid this to be honest (_;)

i use two 16gb sticks for my xbox and they work just fine for that. they're nice and small so don't stick out too much and speed isn't really an issue for me.

Bytestor Dataferry 16GB Blue one works for me 15MB/s write, 25MB/s read.

To all you people who moan how slow the rates are:

What is it you do in your life that's *so* exciting you can't stand another 2 minutes filling a hard drive? I demand to know so I can be jealous...

Also:
How much data do you shift around?

i just got the 16gb model, I didnt bother really researching when I bought it. I just transfered a 1.25 GB file and it was pretty slow, but it is cheap and if its for home use then I dont see the problem. Although apparently it will struggle to be used to playback 1080P. I would say avoid if you think you will need the speed, but buy if you dont mind waiting another 2 minutes
