Good price but write speed is only around 4MB/s so will take a while to copy large files on to it.

I think the PNY for £14.26 is better made and faster:

Or this one for £13.36 from 7-dayshop, even faster

Yes, you can quibble about read & write speeds, but this is a great price.

HOT HOT HOT!!!

7 Dayshop drive mentioned above is the same one posted a few weeks ago at £12.99 (now gone up a bit) and is known to have problems - many people who bought it have had to send it back for a refund. This Sandisk is probably just as fast (or slow!) as the 7 Dayshop one, despite the 'up to 8.5 MB/s' speed quoted for the 7 Dayshop drive, but is made by a much better, more dependable manufacturer. I know which one I would choose.

I agree with these comments, Sandisk are well known for Memory.
I have just ordered the Sandisk, which is an excellent price considering these were £16 plus a few months ago.

No offence to you, but myself and many other people bought this one and found that it has bad sectors and also the metal part sometimes pushed into the rubber and made it useless. A lot of us had to return ours :(

Before anyone starts crying that its made of plastic, ignore them. its very sturdy in my experience... my laptop, TV, kettle, and half my car are made of plastic and they are still in one piece.

And the speeds are really not as bad as people make out.

Heat added and ordered. Thanks.

Good price. I bought one of these a while back, and honestly, the if you compare the speed to any of the other sandisk usb drives, this is significantly slower. It is what it is, but it is small, that's for sure.

Fair point, you did say 'think' and everyone is entitled to express an opinion, that's the whole point of this site. :D

Returned mine as the speeds were *not* as quoted.
Bought this one instead:

can i ask if the pny 16gb micro sd is quicker than this?
#20
What's performance like on xbox 360?
#21
i use mine with my headunit in the car, does take a while to read and start playing the song, about 2 or 3 times as long as a CD...
#22
I actually prefer the plastic USB connection to the metal ones.

Metal USBs slotting into metal USB drives don't quite feel right to me - scratchy and clunky. Plastic is the way forward.

Hot from me. Great price, great pen drive.

Had a sandisk 8Gb Cruzer for about 8 months now (damn, paid £17.99 for it) and must say it has been A1.

Bless! Sorry, Akasmiler, but you are not comparing like-with-like. The PNY card probably is quicker, but its a micro sd card meant for a mobile phone, the Sandisk Cruzer is a USB drive for transferring data from computer to computer. The two are completely different.

Hope this helps.;)
#25
Does the job but transfers are very slow.. If that isn't a problem for you, then this is a good deal

Well that was patronising! I guess you were not aware that you could put a microSD in one of these and make a smaller flash drive than this. Maybe you should know what you are talking about before posting comments like that.

i have this stick - had it on my key ring - plastic bit that keeps it on keyring snapped off whilst in my pocket - would buy something with a sturdier / metal attachment if I were you

Brilliant suggestion, pal. You want a USB drive, so you buy a micro SD card for £4 more than this deal, which is class 2 and will be marginally faster at best and also order a £3 card reader from China to put it in. Total cost £20.

Well done, next time I want any advice, I know who to ask! :(

That wasn't the point of my comment. I wouldn't buy the card and reader if I was just wanted a flash drive but it is a possible solution (and a good one for digital photo frames or a joggler if you want it to be discrete). I just wanted to make it clear that starting your comment with "bless" is a pretty bad way of doing things and makes you look like a arrogant d**k.

Ok, point taken, it wasn't meant to be patronising, just helpful. I won't do it again.

Great price for 16gb. Can live with the speed I think.

Thanks for link davestavros, just bought one of those readers to replace a Sandisk micromate adapter for the car (I thought that was small!).

Hot deal, but after reading the comments with regards to speed dont think I'll bother.

To use with the PNY micro sd card? :D

Got the 4gb for £9 at PCWORLD
Very small USB, but entirely plastic exterior so can't see it taking too much of a whack
#35

Be warned my PNY City series (same make, different model) DOESNT work with the xbox even though it's very fast, and that makes me cry.

If anyone can find a way to make it work... help me obi wan kenobi, you're my only hope.
#36
Either you buy a branded item or an unbranded: Sandisk is a recognised brand the others are not and are usually pure rubbish.
eg. you can buy a Logitech or Microsoft keyboard which will last you 2 or 3 years but if you want to save a few pounds you will buy an unknown brand which will last a few weeks before its good for the bin.
Very simple dont just look at price but also look at brands and warranties.

christ, u can get plastic that is STRONGER than metal these days, this one is made of a ABS material, so will take a hammering.
#38
I have one of these already, exactly the same. They are durable and well made, but they are also very slow. Be aware of that. I wouldn't buy one again because of the (lack of) speed.
#39
Very good price. Okay, it is not very fast but an excellent price for a branded 16GB USB. I have purchased one to go with the other 30,000 USB I already have ... must be getting cheaper USB 3 now starting to arrive.

Am really waiting for a Sandisk Titanium in 32GB to become available ...

Hot from me
