Just saw someone post an 16gb unbranded flash drive on Play for £16.99. For a £1 extra, you could get this much better make and a better looking memory stick. The U3 software on this is excellent.

BTW, my first post :)

* Security-One click password protected access control
* Take your files plus U3 compatible PC programs wherever you go
* Run any U3 programs
* CruzerSync: Synchronize your files and Outlook for access on any PC
* No PC installation required to run the applications
* Ideal for Video
* Big Fish Games

Soz never saw that. My first post anyway. By the way, does anyone think that the search on this site is a bit mucked. It never shows deals in order of time- they are always muddled up.

Also, you've posted a link to the PHOTO of the drive instead of the product page itself for the "Go to Deal" button.
The correct link is:

Hot but I don't want a sliding one sadly.

WHY NOT?? They are the best. The protect the usb whilst removing the need for a lid. I have one of these and they look really good:thumbsup:
#10
these are excellent, best usb pens i have ever used and very handy not having a lid to lose! had the 2, 4, and 8Gb, think i will wait until the 32gb and call it a day, never used more than 4gig at a time lol
#11
By the way, is that an LCD screen on this drive ? What (if anything) does it show ??
#12
More like a piece of plastic that slides in and out with a LED underneath (light orange usually) that flashes depending on activity.

Great Drive but the u3 software is a pain in the butt

Bought the 4GB version from Play.com about 6 weeks ago. Would not buy another. Was virtually impossible to use with U3 instaled so removed as others have suggested above. Stil very temperamental. On successive mounts/demounts get via windows explore

Opens but no content
or

Opens with folders but no content in folders.

or
Opens with file content in folders that cannot be viewed/opened

or
Opens with file content that can be viewed/opened but cannot be drag/dropped to other drives or from other drives

or works! (1 time in about 10 connects!)

Also does not respond to add/remove hardware.properly

AAAAAARGH:x

Furthermore it has this bright orange pulsating light approx 10mmx15mm that drives me crazy:w00t:

My other portable solution is a 2GB SD card with a USB adapter thatcame free with it. (Also by SanDisk). This works OK everytime without fail on the same USB port.

Mines fantastic, its been through the washing machine 5 times now, still works time after time. I've got the titanium one a year ago.

Been through several Cruzers now (1gb, 2gb, 4gb and 8gb Titanium) and never had any issues as you describe. I use them on Mac, Windows and Linux and they work perfectly. Really don't understand your problem with the access light either.

My only issue is they don't provide any way to remove the U3 software on a Mac, so I have to find a Windows machine to do it.

But... you are using them on a Mac ......I am not - I use it on a PC.... it is rubbish IMHO in a Windows XP environment. The alternative SD+USB adapter also from SanDisk works 100%.(Please do not use this as opportunity to promote Mac hardware - not my world and never will be.)

Access light is a pain and far too large and too bright - why do I need an access light - my SD+adapter doesn't?

In pure honesty, I have never had those problems either. I've been using it on Vista and no problems whatsoever. Used them on XP aswell and works sweetly. Probably a faulty/fake one that you had.

i bought 2 of the 8GB ones from amazon about a month ago for more or less the same price as 1 of these :(

Anyone any experience of timescales with back orders - thinking of ordering a 4gb skin triple at £14.99 - don't want the hassle of ordering to find either a) it ships in 3 weeks the day before I notice it much cheaper elsewhere or b) they discontinue them the day after the singles at £6.99 become unavailable.

EDIT: Also has anyone ever tried emailing a pre-sales ETA enquiry?
