Strange - I'd rate the Sandisk above the Kingston!
Factor in the cost & the Sandisk becomes a no-brainer!

Kingston isn't as cheap, so this SanDisk would win every time!

Kingston? Better?

I have always seen Kingston as the budget brand of memory.

Sandisk are highly reputable in flash memory, more so then Kingston.

Throw in the fact that the one you linked to comes from a random unknown site wheras this deal is on Play.

My Kingston 2GB data stick no longer works

My Sandisc 4GB data stick still works.

Not saying one make is better than the other - but they were both treated the same and thats the outcome.

I have the 2GB, 4GB, and the 8GB Kingstone mem sticks and they are dead on. I have had the two smaller ones for over two years and have no complaints. I mostly use the 8GB one now and have found it to be excellent, read speeds seems to be fine ( i use it mostly to transfer and watch movies on my dvd player.:-D

But im sure this sandisc one would be equally as good.

Sorry - but whatever you might think of the merits of Kingston and SanDisk, you're wrong about Play. Just try getting them to sort out any problems after their 30 day return period. You'll wish you never dealt with them! ;-)

I bought 8 of these on the 6th of July @ £17.49 each = £139.92. Todays price = £127.92. Do u reckon they will refund the difference???

It's because they are in the Channel islands and don't have to conform to UK law as far as sale of goods etc.

Had the problem with my 16gb PNY SDHC card, fortunately PNY are in France and good to deal with for returns (for proof of puchase they asked for a screenshot of the order history on play.com), I normally find as far as computer parts/components dealing with the manufacturer can be quicker, a couple of times I have been told by retailer it would have to go to Japan etc for repair and been able to RMA direct to the company in the UK.

I mentioned this a few days ago on the Sony 16gb usb stick thread

The bundled software is good, but you need to download what you need to install, mine has firefox, trillian, OpenOffice and the virus scanner and takes up 300mb or so
