Thanks RS2000 :)

8GB is also available for £9.99 but if someone is looking for a gift or within budget, this is a bargain

Beware, I had one of these and it was very slow. Others with the same problem resolved it by removing the pre-installed software, so I tried to do the same. I went to the maker's site and used their program to remove their software. After that it didn't work at all. I returned it and bought a different make without any pre-installed software and it works perfectly.
#5
which brand was that then?
#6
these work great and the work with vista ready boost :-)

great price.
#7
very tempted!

Bought one of these about a year ago when they were £17.99. Its still going strong today!

Someone mentioned they had slow write speeds above, i think maybe you just had a faulty one. I bought mine on reccomendation from a friend who said the write speeds were great and mine is!

At this price its an absoloute bargain.

Gone for the 8gb one.
Heat & Rep added.

Excellent find and even better price. How much space is left for your files (since there seems to be a number of applications installed on it)?.
#13
is this thing sturdy enough to be on my car keys on a day-to-day basis and not get ruined?

Thats where mine has lived for a couple of years ! Only problem I had was the little split ring didnt live long, so Ive replaced the rings with one of those little beaded chain things... ok ever since.

It was a while back, called the great match hunt.

"HotUKDeals - 100,000 pillaging vikings can't be wrong*
It's a crazy crazy thing but the stars have aligned and the HotUKDeals membership number has just tipped over the magic 100,000 member point! "

I think loads of people got a basic £2.50 voucher.
I only just remembered, sayes valid untill 2010, was accepted.

I ordered this item from amazon and not one of the merchants however on my invoice via email i saw something interesting

1"CRUZER MICRO U3 4GB READYBOOST"
Sandisk; Electronics; £5.99

Sold by: Amazon's Jersey Merchant, Indigostarfish.com

I dont really hav a problem with it as its a good price could this be a error on the amazon site?
#26
Finished 15th May, I didn’t really participate but seemed to win one just by browsing hotukdeals web pages. So i figured everyone here got one. Easily forgotten if u don’t use Amazon.

It's now £7.32 cos it's expired and is now being sold by a Marketplace Seller which is against the T&C's of these forums so i'm going to Expire this. :?

You should have went for the 8gb @ £9.99 here :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Cruzer-Micro-Readyboost-Flash/dp/B000VBPOKY/ref=pd_cp_ce_1?pf_rd_p=136153791&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000PD4H38&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=08ZK6J1B2FD4RA8EDHTH

There's no dust cap/cover in the design - ie the USB connector pulls back 100% into the body but there's still the USB connector "hole" about 12mm x 2mm x 5mm deep that really ought to be kept clean/dustfree at the end - though a quick look/blow when going to use it should usually be okay.
#33
PC World do the Sandisk Cruzer Skin Micro 4gb (or something) for £5.99 and you can collect in store. It's £7.99 in the shop but reserve and it's £5.99.
#34
You can still order for £5.99 from Amazon as the item is only temp out of stock - there may be a delay though - orders taken :)
#35
I've had one of these for getting on for a year. Pretty good, but as mk-donald says, dirt can get stuck in the end so I prefer the traditional design with a (losable) cap.

I wouldn't put it on a keyring.
#36
looks good

Bit new to all this, how much difference does it make to a laptop running vista home basic, currently with 1gb of ram? Does the Ready Boost really speed things up? Cheers for any advice.
#38
Might get the 16Gb tbh, big fan of portable apps for uni (not u3 ones but from www.portableapps.com)

I'd say it would depend on what you use that laptop for?

General stuff email, internet, nothing too memory intensive, i.e. not games, but the laptop seems really slow and i was wondering how much difference Readyboost could make? If i had the time, i'd get a copy of xp and install this instead
