Won't this require a filler item to bring it to £15 (free deli)?

Doh... good point, amended :)

This metal one is much smaller and better built:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDCZ4-8192-E11-Cruzer-Micro-8GB/dp/B0018O4RPG/ref=pd_sbs_ce_1

annoyingly, they're both called Cruzer Micro

wouldnt say 'better' built. The 'metal' version, you'll lose its cap straight away, and the plastic keyring clip will break in next to no time.

I bought one of these on Play.com. It is very light but worth the price. I got rid of the U3 partition and use Portable Apps instead

Agreed which rules it out for me.

hot.............

I got one a while back and it's served me well so far. Paid a lot more for it then though, so hot for me
#9
I too have to vote this hot..
#10
Will this show up on the 360 does anybody know? I have a 4gb one that doesnt becuase of the Security app.......... even with it turned off...... I.E. unlocked.
#11
Hot,though I won't be buying,as I bought a couple of the non U3 ones last week which are plenty fast enough.
#12
Bought one from Play.com since it works out cheaper with free delivery. And yup it works on 360/PS3 a treat. Mind you the 4GB one ought to as well, so not sure what your doing wrong there
#13
The 1GB and 2GB versions are not that fast... Don't know if there is a speed increase with the 8GB, but if there isn't then not worth saving a bit of money for that....

Just format the drive completely to remove the security app.

Ive also got one from Play, very pleased with it (& I've got a load of Flash drives already!)

Will order one from Amazon when i next have something to take it over the £15

The metal version of this is called the titanium and is much better build quality.

I had a 4gb version of the plastic model for a year and it lasted really well, recently bought the titanium version from here

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/SanDisk/SanDisk-Titanium-Cruzer-U3-USB-Flash-Drive

and that is better still. Capless design again, only far sturdier. Does tend to surface scratch in your pocket along with car keys etc etc but it's bound to.

Personally I'd spend the extra few quid and go for the metal version but the original post is still a great price for 8gb micro.

Just ordered 2.Thanks for the heads up.Voted hot:thumbsup:

A small point which won't affect home buyers, but if you pay VAT this item does not come from Amazon. It's via a "Preferred Merchant" from Jersey. So no VAT refundable.
#20
hot - got this one myself for 15.99 i think, has been great so far, a bit plasticky but does the trick.
#21
i have the 2gb version of this and it works perfectly! very fast write speed and quite sturdy. the only bad point is the orange light is quite annoying when watching a movie on the ps3 because it flashes constantly. apart from that you couldn't ask for anything better
#22
Great price, HOT!

Its an extra £7!!

Also i just got this from PC World on a price match... £11.39!! :-D

I have the 4GB and its well fast - can transfer files onto and off of it at the same time.

Can fill it full of photos in about 10-15 minutes.

The play.com cheap blue ones take about an hour to do the same thing- so I would get one of these Sandisk ones if you value your time. Time = money and all that.
#28
Great price. Heat added.

Got it from PcWorld for £12.50 as play have increased it by a quid

Bargain :)
#30
Got PC World to do it for £11.39. Initial £39.99, amazon £13.99 difference £26. Then 10% of diference =£2.60. Total deduction from their initial price £28.60 = £11.39.

Loads in PC World West Quay Soton

Bargain Thanks.
#31
now reduced to £13.79 :)
#32
It was one sale earlier today on Amazon (via one of it's merchants) for £8.59 new and in stock.

Printed it off and got PC World to price match. They added £2.54 for delivery on the above price to make it £11.13 and then 110% price matched down to £8.24. Almost hit the £1 per gig mark!

One very happy punter here. :-D

Can't see it on Amazon at that price now, cheapest is £13.49 so I must have dropped lucky but it might pay to keep checking back.

amazon don't do price drop protection anymore. Claimed against the recent £2 drop and got the following email back:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to time. I've checked your order #026-9531487-8358733 and found that we now offer a greater discount on "SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB U3 Readyboost" than at the time you placed your order.

Unfortunately, we cannot extend a refund to you for the difference between the original price and the lower price you saw posted on our website.

While we don't always beat the best available price on every product, we do offer deep discounts on many thousands of items. From time to time, prices on some items will change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we cannot extend these discounts to completed orders.

Please note that only orders placed on or before September 1, 2008 are eligible for a price difference refund under the Post-Order Price Guarantee policy. However, we do continue to offer our Pre-order price guarantee.

If you have any further questions, you can contact us at the following link:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/email

I am sorry for any disappointment that this may cause. I hope you'll be able to take advantage of the many discounts we offer on your next visit to our store.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
