I just added some details to your post MacNewbie, hope you dont mind.

Being a gadget freek this one looked like a good buy, ok so you can connect the camera to the tv directly but this has the advantage of being remote controlled as edi says.
It also means that you can leave this connected to the tv all the time via a rear port and view whats on your other cards, plus edit them as you wish while someone else in the family is using the camera.
Witht the cost of cards coming down all the time I have quite a few cards about so viewing the contents while another is in the camera is a plus too. It also keep those fingers off your camera and pc ;)
