It was purely by chance I found it. I got fed up waiting from mx2 and was about to buy a 4gb one, when I thought 'I wonder how much the're 2gb ones are' and couldn't believe my eyes, because it wasn't coming up on any price search. Thought altho I have the irritation of swapping out, id rather the safety of having 4gb worth of memory split between 2 cards (in case one stops working).

My order has gone to packing already.
#5
Well this is retarded I bought 2 X 2GB of this card for £8 more delivered. Ah well :(
#6
I wouldn't worry, by the end of the year we'll be onto extreme xxv costing £9.99 for 32gb
#7
does anyone know if these work with the Fuji S9600 Zoom?

yes they take both XD and CF cards so this would be ideal
#9
good deal. shame CF cards are being phased out of a lot of camera ranges.

Cheers currychops, my S9600 just says it takes Compact Flash I & II

I take it these are the high speed cards then

Just ordered 2

And to think, I almost ordered 2x 1GB from ebuyer which after the Google Checkout would have been £23!
Will be great in my 300D, as my cheapo 1GB card sucks at continuous drive mode :D

Yes they are high speed...you may get the benefits with your camera but with a bog standard digital camera you'll hardly notice the difference.

the review says it takes compact flash cards so should be correct.

according to the specs the CF card fits into slot2...I would confirm this with your manual.
#14
The Extreme cards used to come with a registration detail for Phase one Capture LE , RAW processing program, which is superb. I hope it still does, just ordered one.

How's this 'Compact'? It's bigger than my camera!

Yea the manual says it takes XD and CF cards, the only thing it mentions about the CF cards is that it accepts type one and type two compact flash cards.

I'm assuming that the sandisk is a type two and 3 times the speed of a standard one hence the name Extreme III
#17
I didn't know there was more than one type of CF card...well apart from some having faster read/write speeds...this one being the fastest...it should work fine.
#18
yea don't think there will be a problem, if it does work I shall be ordering more as you can never have too many of these things

Don't be surprised if it doesn't work as it's a III. If it does then all will be well.
#20
I had a feeling this would happen...

Great Price for a Superb Card. Get it Now!

According to wiki, they only make compact flash I & II (One and Two) types

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_flash

I've done a little hunting around on the net and found someone who uses this type of card with a Fuji S9600 and he says its fine, in fact very much better than a XD as he gets a 6 second delay when using XD over CF.

these are a great price
#22
The "III" relates to the 3rd version of the extreme card that Sandisk make, it has absolutely nothing to do with which CF card type it is. These cards are superb, I use the extreme II with my Nikon D70 and they are miles better speed wise than your bog standard CF cards, in continious shooting mode they really come into their own. I paid well over £100 each for my 2Gb cards boohoo :( Fill your boots with these! The 4Gb ones are a good buy as well at £39.99 if you are going to be taking photos in raw mode.
#23
Cheers for this! Am being roped into doing some photography at a wedding do and my Minolta A2 loves lots of space for shooting in RAW. No more having to swap through my 512 cards constantly!
#24
What is everyones order status? Mine has gone from Packing to Processing which seems a backwards step to me
#25
Mine has been posted today and confirmation eails received :)

Just have to wait for them to arrive now
#26
Mine too
#27
Thanks for posting this - ordered one and it arrived today though I haven't tried it out yet. Assuming there is minimal risk of it being a fake but wondering why my box hasn't got a holographic sticker on it? Anyone know if it should have a holographic sticker with the serial number on it?
#28
Silverwolf - haven't got mine yet as I was out when the posty tried to deliver them. Like you say there should be minimal risk of Play shipping fakes out and the price of these cards has dropped universally to around this price. To be sure here is a quick way of checking the actual card to see if it is fake or not

Let us know if it is genuine
#29
Hi,

Got mine, and while there's no hologram, the fact that all the accessories were included, and a serial number for Phase One's software too, I doubt very much that it could be fake.

I did get the 4GB though.
#30
Hi Bonoman27 - sorry for the late reply. I sent an email to Sandisk advising them of my concerns, and gave them the serial number of the memory card. Anyway, they have confirmed the card as being genuine, and advised that the packaging does undergo subtle changes, and it's difficult to know how long a product has been sitting on supplier's shelves.
#31
Hi Silverwolf - Yep I agree, I got my 2 cards through as well and they are definitely genuine. You could tell the difference straight away between this and the fakes from eBay I have had in the past.

It is working very nicely with my Canon 400d, although I had to get the camera changed as the CF card eject button fell out the first time I put a card in!! On the plus side as Tesco refund and make you order again (I got the sale price again after a bit of arguing) so I have two different receipts and two different barcodes/serials etc so can claim 2 x £50 back from Canon :)

This is a type I card, the III simply refers to this being the third generation of the card. The type II compatibility is for Microdrives, these days though with flash memory prices being so low though Microdrives are rarely worth considering.
