At first glance this might not seem like such a hot deal at £15.99 for an 8GB card but this looks to me like the peak of price/performance !

"As confirmed at digitalversus this card is the same as the newer extreme class 10s "Our lab tests proved our earlier suspicions. This 'new' card is nothing of the sort, and i simply a renamed Extreme III."

Looking at camerapricebuster it states the next best price is £44.99(going up to £88!). I've spotted the card for £24.99 at RGB photo but this still makes the amazon deal by far the cheapest out there !

Having done a bit of research for my Nex 5 it appears it can handle about 18MB/s which makes this the ideal card. You might want to splash out on a 16GB card but you'll be paying 5 times more for only twice the capacity at £74.99

From Tom's hardware's most recent SD Card reviews they say of the 16GB card:
"Lexar, Silicon Power, and Transcend all share second place when it comes to throughput. They all reach nearly 20 MB/s for reads and a bit more than 18 MB/s for writes. However, compared to SanDisk, they deliver less than half the minimum write throughput, which might be important for certain applications.",review-31878-10.html

If anyone can find this cheaper or recommend any other options post your finds !

Link seems to be broken sorry.
As far as I can see, the Extreme III 30MB/s is still £35 at Amazon?
The Extreme HD Video is £15.99, but this isn't the same product (20MB/s).
Hi tonik,
Can you use the report link (on the right) and send over a link for this deal?
Link does not work and can't locate the card from a search.
It looks like the link's been changed ?

Checkout the images for Extreme III cards when you do a google product search. It looks like they're labelled up as 20MB/S.

Maybe the title should just be changed to Sandisk Extreme as reading across a lot of the forums and reviews there's a lot of relabelling and confusion with these names but for this card this is still the hottest option !
Think this is a better deal as you get 16gb for only a couple of quid more, also class 10 should be faster than class 6?

There are so many different ratings/specs relating to memory and I was a bit confused about the Class ratings but they only indicate the minimum speed rating of the card.

" * Class 0 cards do not specify performance, which includes all legacy cards prior to class specifications.
* Class 2, 2 MB/s, slowest for SDHC cards.
* Class 4, 4 MB/s.
* Class 6, 6 MB/s.
* Class 10, 10 MB/s."

This card's rated at Class 6 because 6 was the max when it was introduced but in all tests far exceeds this and is closer to the Transcend Ultimates than the class 10 Transcends. That's why the price of these cards is higher. Having said that loopie's deal does look like another good one.
Its more like class 20! i.e. 20 mb/s

The other ones out there at 30mb/s which are about £35! also have this in stock for the same price - so dont forget quidco/topcashback.
It's gone back up to £20 at Amazon so I guess it's expired !
