Good price for 960GB, lowest I can find at the moment. Directly from Amazon. Samsung EVO 940 1TB available for the same price, but online reviews indicate this is a better option.

I want my 40gb made up in a micro sd or flash drive. :P

Don't forget your £5 off if paying by MasterCard (PRICELES5) :)

Nice to see these becoming a bit more affordable, but it's pretty obvious that half the price you paid for it is going to disappear in the next 12-18 months...
#4
that will always be the case. you could spend your life looking at the price around the next corner.

Confirmed by the old googoogadgets, this is the lowest in the UK ;-)

These are definetely becoming more price accessible. Good one, OP.

Grabbed one myself. Dabs.com is also doing them for £289 with free delivery at the moment. Really good deal to see these for the same price as the 1tb Samsung Evo 840 considering how much better and more reliable they are. Heat!

Why would you need that much storage in a SSD? It will obviously be used to store movies, music or even games, that dont need high speed data transfer.

Bill Gates is the person to ask about future storage, that is if he really did say what he said.

1. You have a laptop with a single drive bay and want SSD performance and 1TB of storage.
2. You are a multi-media content creator so want you media on a large SSD.

I keep my Steam games on an SSD, because I don't like loading screens.

Interesting you say they are better and more reliable. Can you point me in the direction of some evidence if this, I can't seem to find anything to suggest this is any better than the evo, and certainly not faster, although maybe I'm missing something.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/962?vs=1242

AnandTech Storage Bench 2013 - The Destroyer (Service Time)
Average Service Time in Microseconds - Lower is Better
Evo 1553.9
Pro 968.8

0.5KB Transfer - 2GB Sequential Read - QD4
KB/s - Higher is Better
Evo 42496
Pro 60544

1KB Transfer - 2GB Sequential Read - QD4
KB/s - Higher is Better
Evo 88064
Pro 125440

Evo TLC Nand - dodgy (more reliant on error correction) Not enough pixy dust holding the charge state for your 1s and 0s
Pro MLC Nand - not so dodgy MLC > TLC

If you buy Samsung you want V-Nand TLC - 850 EVO.... which is ColdUK Deal candidate in terms of price.

3. You value your time and have to copy large amounts of data (even blu-ray disks) on a regular basis
