That is an absolute STEAL!

whats actual read/write?
seen transcend SDHC class 10 with 21/17 speeds at 15-16quid
'up to' isn't much info though i have seen they are fast previously

(yes i know is pro-duo post i am asking because of OP comment)

Looking at the Sandisk datasheet, the speed of this card should be approximately 30MB/s for both read and write operations (unless I'm reading it wrong - URL here).
I was very tempted by the Transcend cards, but some of the negative comments regarding card corruption have put me off slightly. As it will be used in a Canon EOS 550D which spits out RAW files at about 25MB a shot, the extra throughput would also be useful!

I noticed this a few days back when I was looking at mem stick pro duos for my psp-1000, followed a link for another one off here and stumbled across this.

talking about the 550d, I saw a 1 star review for a 8gb mem stick pro duo on amazon because it doesn't work on a 550d. apperently the reviewer was confused, amazon were confused etc as to if that worked in a 550d or not. I'm sure if the guy bothered looking at the manual/specs online/even at the camera itself he'd noticed sd/sdhc support :)

think you are reading it wrong or i guess i am missin where it says it^^
says 'up to 30MB/s read/write' doesn't say whether its read or write or both and doesn't say whether its 30 once in a blue moon or not.
i am not saying its not a fast card just i like to have a proper idea of how fast it usually is :)

Completely appreciate that :-). Ideally I'd like to see some independent benchmarks, but unfortunately these seem to be severely lacking.
In the PDF that I linked to, it does mention 'Up to 30MB/s** read & write'. So I hope that clarifies at least part of your query. Yes it's starred, due to what Sandisk state as 'based on SanDisk internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device' which I think is probably fair. I think the 'up to' is more as a disclaimer that the equipment you put it in might not be capable of 30MB/s throughput. :-)
Obviously this will also be for sequential read and writes (expect performance for random accesses to start dropping off substantially), but then that's true for most flash memory (excluding SSDs here, which would obviously show this less).
To be honest, if this was an unbranded card, with a 30MB/s sign slapped on it, I'd be wary. However, it being Sandisk, I'm a little more inclined to take this as a sign that the card is indeed capable of 30MB/s writes (although obviously I can't be sure unless I had one myself). If an SDHC card came along with a similar capacity, speed, and price, I'd snap it up in an instant. Obviously, one has to make their own choice based on the bit of ambiguity though. :-)

No problem - I'm pleased it's useful to someone!

Is this compatible with a PSP 1000 ?

I have one of the new A580 dSLRs that have both slots. One slot has this card the other has the Transcend 16GB Class 10. Using this card as default and it does feel faster.

Previously also used Sandisk 30MB/s Compact Flash vs Transcend/Kingston 133x and Sandisk 30MB/s feels noticeably faster.

Yes a bit more expensive but worth it as a one off. Would spend on Transcend as spares rather than to use it as main.
