Was hunting for a SD micro card for my phone and came across this, good price I think and comes with an adaptor for transferring files.

There's also quidco on this.

I don't buy ones off ebay as there are to many fakes about. Good price.

Voted hot.

The 'adaptor' you speak of, merely takes the card up to full SD size. That is how they would have you believe file transfer becomes easier - rubbish! I have a USB 'card reader' which came with my card from memorybits. you need to include a card reader (possibly) with you order.
Voted hot anyway.

Well I would say easier if you have a card reader on your lappy. I have an adaptor and a usb adaptor(came with R4) but I use the SD adaptor as I just leave it in my lappy.

But my point is that this card with it's 'adaptor' will not allow the average joe to plug it in to a pc. For this you need a card reader. Misleading in that the op suggests that the adaptor is for transferring files - it is not! Merely takes it to the SD card size for reading.

Amazing that its actually cheaper than the same mini-SD and convertor combo too!

Typical that I am after the mini not the micro...

I have stopped buying memory from eBAY just over 2 years' ago. All the memory that I bought were sub-standard ones and they consistently read and write at a much reduced speed. The worst is the write speed is less than half quoted. I did tests on them by reading and writing using test files. The price of the much reduced speed "fake" memory, claimed higher speed, is about the same price of properly marked genuine item when bought from online shops like 7dayshop, PLAY, mymemory.com etc. E.g. Cheaper memory claims 60X write speed but is actually 20X write speed = £6, bargain you may think, but the genuine item at 20X write speed is £6 anyway NOT from dubious eBAY seller!
Always avoid buying from eBAY, once I had a very popular seller on eBAY who boldly not bothered to remove the original label (slower speed) and stuck a label with a much faster speed on it.

Do you know, just when you think you can beat Play.Com with an alternative website, you follow through to checkout and they put a ridiculous delivery charge on.

For a 2GB SD Card:
£8.49 + £0.00 Del = £8.49 - Play.Com
£6.99 + £1.99 Del = £8.98 - DVD.co.uk
£8.89 + £0.00 Del = £8.89 - valueshop.co.uk (good try)
£8.44 + £1.29 Del = £9.73 - Memorybits.co.uk
£7.95 + £3.95 Del = £11.90 - bmcdigital (extorionate!)

I should know better than to try and beat my beloved play.com!

Lets be honest here 99% of the people buying these will be doing so for an R4 and you get a usb adaptor with that so you dont need a memory card reader.

Can you buy these without the adaptor and is it much cheaper?

Thanks, although that is only a Class 2 device (slowest sustained write speeds).

What's the difference in speed and is it noticable?

I was just looking on Amazon for a MiniSD and you can get MiniSD and Ultra MiniSD.

For use with N80.
