No, the Nexus tablet has no slot which is its biggest flaw (Google want to sell their cloud storage or some similar monopolistic idea).

I bought a tablet off amazon just recently. had a class 2 16GB memory card lying around and it takes forever just to copy over 4-5GBs you will definitely be waiting at least 45m-1hr (and maybe even longer) for it to complete the transfer. so its a no no if you use your tablet to watch 720-1080p videos regularly.
I wouldnt say the transfer rate is woeful, but you will be sitting there a long time waiting for it to complete.
For music where the average mp3 is 3-5mb it will be fine, transfers shouldnt take forever.
a Class 10 memorycard for a tablet/pad is well worth paying the extra for.

I think it'[s just to keep the price down. It does have internal storage after all.
PS The last Micro SD card I bought from a deal on here turned out to be fake, and the eBay user has removed their account since I bought from them.
