Possibly the best price right now, but has been cheaper plenty of times. Paid £24.99 with free 8gb memory card. Would probably wait for it to drop below £25/£30 before purchasing. Plus cheaper at pixmania.

I bought mine for under £20, but it was only 4 gig. OTOH with MP3s, do you really need 8 GBs? Mine has 2.9 GB unused.

You only use 1 GB? That's between 8-15 albums only (one day of music). If I go on holiday I take 16gb worth at least, especially as I prefer using high quality audio...

Mine has 16Gb card in plus 8Gb onboard. Full to brim and still have music I'd like to get on there. Depends how much you use it. I run for 1 hour per day, so 8Gb would not take long before I hear tracks repeated.
I would also say about this player - the shuffle function is not very good. Quite often I will get 2 tracks from the same album back to back, and if starting from scratch it seems to cycle through the same songs as before. Basically 'random' is not truly random. Having said that, I am on my 3rd one and still think it's the best out there for size, flexibility and sound quality. Good at this price. Hot.

I brought one of these a while ago and I must say that I was and still am very pleased with it. If you do get one I would thoroughly recommend downloading "Rockbox" for it. This makes the player a lot better to use and the sound is substantially improved. Well worth purchasing one of these ... Hot.

Interesting - can you then go back if you don't like Rockbox?

I'm obviously in a minority. I just have mine for occasional use. Yes, you are right I've got the equivalent of about 12 albums on it.

How do other people find the battery life? Mine would be flat if I played it all day.

I think a lot of people using Sansa gear are also using lossless formats. I know I fill 8gb alarmingly quick;y and still have to rotate albums weekly.
The battery on mine lasts so long I cant remember the last time I charged it

these are great, got 3 on the go as i type....all full, even use 8 gb cards as a extra top up for all my podcasts i download, about 70 on each card...5 cards all full........dont know much about the battery life yet to be honest, im always plugging um into the pc downloading on them, etc.......also got a car 12v addaptor, usb , etc in car and on scooter...so if goes flat, ill just recharge it on the go.......My only prob is how many of these do i want or need , or even use........lol..........Same goes for all the sd cards i keep buying for them, ....lol
