I've just bought this great looking MP3 player in black. I can't find another 12GB version on line, but the 8GB is currently £69.99 at Play.com - it has great reviews.

This is the 8GB player bundled with a 4GB micro SD card.

Thanks dawn1e

Very lucky. There was only one left in my area + VAT off to

Thanks

Great price. However I just gave the same make and model away to my Mother-in-Law on account of prefering my son's Sony. As long as you don't do the pepsi challenge between this and a Sony you'll be fine.

Is it the same item number? (0000100241)

There were other models available too - maybe you have been given a price for a different model?

Even verified with the manager.

Huge bargain for what is one of the best players out there!
#12
Personally I preferred this after the 'pepsi challenge' but I guess its all down to personal taste - Both VERY good audio quality, plenty of quality reviews out there on audiophile forums. The other thing I like about this, for those that use audio books - it bookmarks each file so when you go back to it, it asks if you want to resume. Great for podcasts/audiobooks etc. SD card full integrates. (thats two things my zen can't do)

I have one of these and they are great ... got mine from cdiscount for £46 delivered from a deal on here. Main annoyance for me was a proprietary usb connector (not mini USB) but a £5 cable from ebay fixed that (so I have a spare). It is great though and the battery lasts ages.

Online 8GB product (FM tuner, no 4GB MicroSD) has item no 533400 (£68.49) and the call centre guy couldn't find 0000100241 either. Perhaps this is a clearance, in store only product? Guess I'll be making a trip down to the local store...
#15
just spoke to customer services and they reckon it's been discontinued now as was probably old stock from a specific store, even quoted their product number and it wasn't recognised. good find though!
#16
New firmware came out at the beginning of June. Only annoyance is that it's recommended to reformat and load all the music back on afterwards - took about an hour an a half and there's 7.1G on mine.
#17
Seen it for 39.99 in Currys stores in Bolton and Leigh...

Definitely worth having a look in store, they had quite a selection of reduced MP3 players in Swansea - you might find another bargain!

Alternatively you may be able to get the 2GB version for £24.97 at PC World - with the micro SD slot you can expand the memory.

Never mind, that's still a good price as you can expand the memory with micro SD :)

Thought sony A826K 4GB at 30£ was great deal from sainsburys ;-)
micro sd slot, FM player ...this looks a very nice deal
#24
Ah.. one more thing.... it supports OGG and FLAC formats too !!! just update firmware to the recent one...
#25
Awesome mp3 player and hope to snag one.

Tried calling my local currys number but got taken straight to the main call centre. The guy said that item number is invalid as curry's item numbers are only 6 digits long.

He checked on the system and said that the 12GB is out of stock nationwide, I then asked about the 8GB and he said that is in stock but at £64! - So something is strange here..

People that got one: Were these 12GB on display in store?

Hmm I wonder if it is worth popping down to my local currys?
#27
Might have to buy one of these, though I'm still tempted with the 4 Gig Sony at £39.99 in store.

It was on display in store

Bearing in mind that the only difference between the 8GB and 12GB is a supplied 4GB Micro SD card, which is worth not much more than £5, then you might consider the 8GB worth getting if you see one.

Seriously?? I don't know what you should do first a) clean your ears, or b) wash your mouth out for such slander!

However if people want one and can get there hands on one at a good price - bang for buck it is a cracking little machine then they might want to book mark this page

the fuze can be a pain in the ar5e to get a ripped video to work right on after about 30 mins the movement and audio end up out of sync, however the instructions in the link work wonderfully.

...but the 8GB is still listed at £68 ? The deal seems to be for the 12GB version, which my local store doesn't have.
#35
I've seen the SEL saying 12GB for £49.99 but when scanned it came up as £34.97- strangely enough the store assistants couldn't find it and wanted to give me the display model 4gb for £34.97! I refused though.
#36
I managed to snag the last one in Birmingham from the Highgate Middleway PC World, both Currys and PC World were showing 2 new one but there was only a prefect display model left.

Shop assistant looked amazed at the price for 8GB + 4GB

Yes - that was general advice - you never know, you might stumble upon an 8GB one at some point.

there are 8GB ones in my local store - so are they cheaper as well? The website and in-store appears to show £68! Sorry maybe I missed your point....confused.

Got me one of these 8gb + 4gb deals from Currys in Bracknell. Well chuffed with it as an mp3 player, absolutely cracking device. Big old billy bargain as far as I'm concerned! :-D
