The Sansa m200 Series MP3 players add to SanDisk's growing line of products for the audio market. Created by the leaders in flash memory, this flash-based model provides high-quality digital music playback at an affordable price. As a replacement to SanDisk original Digital Audio Player line, this improved look also includes Sansa's excellent navigation: songs sorted by title, artist, album, genre as well as play list support. Picked one of these up when they were £19.99 a few weeks back, very easy to use and at this price you can't complain (sent off my refund request  )

Thanks alot Rayman, was gonna buy the 1GB version for £4 less earlier today. Needed something light for the gym as my ipod is too heavy.

Hi Guys, first post here so apologies that it is a question and not a bargain!

Is this player a drag & drop thingamajig? Or do you have to do all horrible conversions like on ipods?

Thanks for the help :)

Welcome to HUKD Suzi :)

Copying to the device:
You need to drop files into the media folder though, yet there is nothing in the instructions to say this! also able to store normal data as well (by putting it into the data folder).

By horrible converting do you mean put an mp3 on the ipod? I suggest you do some research before making stupid posts. Ipods take mp3's. I think you'll find they're the most common format.

no real need is there?

i think what was meant is do all the music files have to be imported to an itunes like library before uploading to the player. i'm sure you knew that though .......

to which the answer is no i believe, drag and drop is uspported from an exisiting windows media library.

Suzi,

Ignore the first reply to your perfectly sensible and valid question.

Yes you can drag and drop from Windows, unlike the horrible interface used by Sony and others that forces you to use their app. It is also one of the first things I would check.

However, these Sandisk players are a bit of a mixed bag in terms of build quality and reliablity. It's a good price for a 2Gb player but personally I'd spend a little more on a different brand. I like the Creative ones for the simple and intuitive user interface.

Thanks for the welcome and for the replies :)

I guess I should've taken a little bit more time with my question, but yes, I did mean if I already have the mp3s can I just drag them over to the player. I just want basic players for stocking fillers for my kids. They've had ipods in the past and hated them, ended up swapping them for Wii games with their friends LOL.

Now to work out how to vote this hot ... Oh the trials of being a technophobical newbie :D

does anyone have some knowledge regarding the quality of the voice recorder. i know this thing is cheap but its an important consideration. cheers. :-D

OK may I timidly ask a question?

Does it support folders and does it auto resume?

I use an Ipod for Music and Podcasts but a fairly generic mp3 player for audio books...the resume is a nice feature for this (as is bookmarking if it has that)

The battery door on my generic mp3 player is now held on with cellotape so I need to replace it.

Can anyone who has got one of these please tell me whether it is robust enough to be suitable for a 5yo who wants an ipod like daddy's! She is able to find her way around gadgets very easily so not worried about ease of use, it's just whether it will stand up to the odd knock.

Aww thanks badass, I have no idea what rep means but it gives me a nice glowy feeling all the same!

I'm sorry too - I can see how my badly-phrased question could wind somebody up. Ignorance is hard to tolerate, especially when it's obvious that I am capable of getting on the internet, can manage to register here and make a post - then surely I am capable of doing a little bit of research for myself and not expect everybody else to do it for me. I just thought it would be easier to ask here as somebody on the thread mentioned already owning one of these players.. Anyway, I promise to try to put more thought into any future posts and when I work out what rep is I will reciprocate the favour ;-)

To the OP - thanks, I took the plunge and ordered two for my teenagers. Although davidc warned me about the build quality and reliablity, and quite a few reviews on Amazon have reported problems with firmware, they will hopefully do the job I want of them for a good price. I'm finding it incredibly hard to find stocking fillers that might actually be useful and/or enjoyable so I'm really happy. I just wish I'd found this site earlier! Oh and btw, I did work out how to vote it hot and have done so - was easy enough even for me to master! Todays mission: to find out about rep..

*Hums mission impossible theme*

Thanks again everyone, I think I'm gonna like it around here :friends:

Dont be sorry Suzi it was a perfectly fine question, as far as the rude poster knows all your audio files could have been ripped by windows media player and then an ipod wouldnt play them unless converted. Why people want to be so aggressive on forums i dont understand, dont let it put you off. At least he has apologized and seen the error of his ways

Got the 1MB from Amazon and sent it back. Absolute rubbish. It's a bit on the bulky side and the controls are terrible. Couldn't get it working on 2 PCs both running XP so returned for a refund and got a Philips 2MB Go Gear from Currys instead.

It worked fine on my mac. Don't see why it wouldn't work on a pc.

Also, how many songs did you fit on your 1MB player? :-D
