You don't have to buy Nintendo branded SD cards, any old SD cards will work so purchase all you want :)

I bet/wonder if someone can find branded sd card or cards cheaper?

Cold. Individual 2GB SD cards at www.MemoryBits.co.uk are only £3, compared to the equivelent of £3.60 being charged here. Also, since memorybits sell individually, you're not forced to buy a pile of cards of which half you'll probably never use. Also also, SDHC means you can get 16GB in a single card for less money, if your device supports it.

£1.99 for Kingston 2GB cards here.

Postage a bit steep at £4.50 but that makes 5 x 2GB for £14.49.
Ordered 5 in september and got them no problem!

I have never used memrybits before.

Which ones are £3, and does that include P&P?

They dont seem to stock them for £3. £3.11 seems cheapest. 5x of those and you've spent £17.54 inc p&p.

Cheapest I can find is £3.11 plus £1.99 postage for order under £20 - so if you buy 4 it works out at £3.60 a card anyway for that well known brand 'Transcend'.
I know which ones I'd be buying! - cheers OP.

Transcend 2Gb SD cards are on sale via Amazon for £2.93 delivered.
Thanks to theloft on MSE for this one!
