Good deal. Just yesterday I paid £15.62 for the exact same one.... doh
#7
i had one which was class 4, too slow for my camcorder. however that was 32gb, so maybe 16gb does the job.
#8
Wow, hot hot hot, don't really need at the mo, but very tempted at this price.
#9
Lovely, almost bought the same for £15 on Play earlier :p

Are you sure? What camcorder have you got, I also have a 16GB play branded which is also class 4 and it works fine in my Panasonic HD camcorder..

The size of the card will have no effect on the speed of read/write - a 16gb class 4 card will read and write at the same speed as a 32Gb class 4 card. There is some variation amongst manufacturers within classes, so a class 4 card from one manufacturer might write a little faster than a class 4 from another - the class definition is really a minimum standard of transfer speeds (amongst other things, but that's the main consideration)

For camcorders, particularly HD ones which often need to write a lot of data quickly, you might want a class 10, such as the Transcend Ultimate SDHC. They can be had for about £17.

Adapter for what? it's not a micro sd

HOT - cheapest I've seen a 16gb, personally I'd still pay extra for the class 10's out there but great for a media player or extra storage in a netbook or something

I have a class 4 panasonic and records full 1080p HD video on my Pentax K-r no problem, class 4 will be fine, the only downside is SLOW transfer rate compared to class 10

For an extra 38p you could get a Transcend 16GB class 10, which seems a better option.

...and extra opportunity for data loss
if you need to move data between PC and audio/video player, quaility doesn't matter

however if you use this card in camera or camcorder, quaility should be the first (in this case sandisk class 4 is a better choice rather than transcend class 10)

In high end cameras and camcorders, SPEED is very important, so a class 10 is the better choice, however not THAT class 10 card.

I'm still looking. Haven't found one yet (not a free one that doesn't come from China).

Scortcher from me, I was just unloading the 2gb one from my camera last night thinking this is a bit small and looking a bit tired. This should fit the bill perfectly :D

I haven't seen it called that. If I have to pay for the adapter the deal on the memory card is no longer very attractive, so I am looking to get a free one thrown in.

Help me please! I've just bought a Sony Bloggie HD camcorder (for £126 - currys/comet price match) and I'm looking for an SD card. Will this one do or should I go for a higher class card. Although this camcorder isn't top notch but it does record Full HD. Your advice would be welcome. Thanks

If you spend ~£1000 for a high-end camera, probably have 4-5 extra pounds for a better quality card :-)
and speed often comes with quality.

My 8gb Sandisk ultra (class 4 ) has 11,3 mb/s writing and 18,2 mb/s reading speed and faster than my friend's 16Gb Kingston class 10 (w:10,1, r:18,5)

And both are enough for fullHD recording.

Class 4 only specifies a minimum write speed, some will be faster than others. You really need to look for a Class 6 or 10 to be sure.

That's way over the odds. They're only $5.71 at dealextreme, including delivery. But free would be better, and it can take awhile for things to arrive from dealextreme.
