That's incorrect, you're limited to the speed of the multiple SATA channels. i.e if you're using 2 x SATA3 channels, the maximum could in theory be upto 1200MB/sec (600 x 2).

Your limited by the speed of your SATA bus which is 300 or 600 MBs (for revision 3) in theory, in practice this number will be less.
£62.96 on ebuyer for 128GB = £0.49/GB + cashback

After 4 months use, my Windows 7 pro x64 install and chosen apps that I want to run fast take up ~30GB of a 128GB SSD.
TBH SSD prices are dropping so fast though, I'd now get a 256MB SSD and worry a little less about where I install stuff. This is a bargain though.
This will go nicely in my parents' replacement system, even though the MoBo only has SATA2...

64GB IS PLENTY !!!!
64GB IS PLENTY !!!!
No its not, after a fresh install and a few apps that space is nearly gone you must remember to drop the page file if you have enough ram that will get you some space back but 64gb is not enough. I have a a crucial c-300 64gb that's old now and its a nightmare when installing stuff you have to keep a eye on the space constantly which is a pain and with the prices the way they are there's no point in getting such a small drive even a 120gb is to small, i also have a Sandisk Extreme 120gb drive and that's not enough you buy a SSD to improve performance across the board but its some good if you windows boots in 15 seconds but your still waiting for your apps to load it sort of defeats the object of one. Dont waste your money on such a small drive, windows home server wont even install to such a small drive, that says it all.

WTH are you people installing on it?! 64GB is more than enough for a boot drive with an OS + plenty of apps including CS4/5/6 (take your pick) + many more.
These small drives obviously aren't intended for boot+storage, unless you're at a stretch, but even then it'll still be enough.
Yes it will.

As I said, I'd buy a 256GB SSD these days just for the convenience, but my 128GB SSD O/S and fast applications drive has barely been touched. Plenty, if not most people can get away with a 64GB SSD system drive and reap benefits from it if they understand to use it sparingly!.
thats the only reason i would buy a 64gb SSD otherwise 128GB minimum
Yes it will.
No it won't, 2011 needs 160gb. I'm sure there's a way round it but my virtualized server wouldn't install till I gave it a virtual 160gb drive :)
