Great deal, just picked one up :)

Cheers, just got one from Currys in White City, Manchester. Still plenty in store if anyone is after them.

Very good price, and no waste of time for traveling ....
It is available in Amazon same price since three days ago.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sandisk-sdssdhii-120g-g25-120gb-2-5-inch-ultra-ii-sata-iii-39-99-amazon-

But prefer to order it from curry as there is a potential af Quidco Cashback of 5% ....

I got one on Friday - just to alert people - there is only the SSD and no migration software (from your old HDD). I used Paragan 14 suite (free) to move everything over.

Yes, make sure you get sata 3 with usb3 enclosure to make good use of speed.

just remember to align the partition (if paragon doesn't do it, not sure), presuming you copied from hdd.
and install the sandisk managent software, easily downloaded off their site.

Just bought one of these. Putting it in my 5 year old compaq cq61 laptop as we speak. Reckon I will get 10 years out of this laptop in the end as I can upgrade to 8gb ram too if I wish.

Excellent price. I tried to get the samsung one but that was a wild goose chase. None in manchester at all.

What's the difference between the Ultra and the Standard? The Standard on Amazon is £42, the ultra is £70!

just a heads up datalossfs, you should check that the warranty on your faulty SSD has expired, you frequently get a 3 year warranty with a hard drive, some folks throw them away after 1 year if they develop a fault, worth checking me thinks

Good price for an ssd

Anyone know whether this is worth getting or waiting for better deal on Samsung 840 Evo. I'm in no rush but if the difference is minimal I'll jump and get this!
#24
This may be the drive for me but I'm tempted to hold off (not sure why) too see what goes on sale next. Heat added.

me too, I think 256 is coming...soon

240gb version same price per gb. why?
#27
It's good, but IMO Amazon's deal - SanDisk Extreme PRO 240GB for 79.99 - is a better bet.

OCZ/Toshiba told me and everyone else with older OCZ pre Toshiba takeover drives to get stuffed mate. it had 6 months warranty left on it (2 and half years old) but the warranty ain't worth the paper it's written on. It's suffered complete 98% chip failure with only 100Mb readable. I made a stink about it but I doubt anybody will do anything.

I've gone for it. Got a flubit offer of £35.89. Pretty happy at that price to be honest.
#30
Hm, my Samsung laptop (NP300E5C) only has a SATA 2 interface (so 3Gbs/3375MB/s max?) would this still be worth it or can I get a cheaper one elsewhere?
#31
You'll struggle to get cheaper in my opinion. But whether it's worth the upgrade I'm really not sure.
#32
might want to change description - currently both read/write are listed as read/read
#33
£54.99 now :(
