Are they still doing it?
#3
They removed a number of retailers but Play are still listed.

As for price matching instore, that's another question.
#4
Cheers, ordered one. Will be nice to upgrade to a faster card.
#5
If the signs are still up then press them, even so can order via their not so hot 'hot line' @ £2.49

This price promise applies to:
Argos, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, B&Q, Game Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Maplin, Play*, Staples, Toys R Us, Virgin, Woolworths.

I really can't see them selling this card for £2.49 (or less if they include the delivery charge!) over the phone, hope I'm wrong!

Hmm Ebuyer didnt last long on their price promise!.....and they have removed Amazon now!, wonder how much longer Play will be on there, I have used their price promise for 3 memory cards beating play recently, including this one when it was at £5.99.
#10
£2.50 for a SD card at pc world. You can't beat that price can you, will have to get one.
#11
Used the price promise yesterday using Play prices for a couple of USB drives, was no problem getting the 110% difference. As others have stated, I also don't think Play will be on the list for much longer.

Yep, and it will be PC Worlds loss, I hate that store with a vengence, and only use DSG for price promises or genuine reductions. A staf member admitted to me that the memory and accessory prices are vastly marked up as profit margins elsewhere are little....don't believe that though, look at the price of the graphics carrds, sound cards etc etc compared to Ebuyer or Play!

I always have problems with the 110% price beat, end up having to teach them basic maths, they just cant seem to be able to work out what 10% of the difference is!

Unless you need your goodies fast not worth the hassle in PC World for 110% of the difference, better to save yourself petrol & grief and buy them online from the comfort of your keyboard.

True, unless you have a PC World fairly close, I mean two £5.99 SD cards from Play.com for £3.50 each at PC World is quite a saving really, £7 for two 2 GB Ultra IIs

But yep, seems PC World are starting to faulter with their price promise, and reducing the number of online retailers they price promise against fast...there goes their "promise they won't be beaten on price", clearly worried about their lack of profit margins now.
#15
Iv'e had lots of price matches at pcworld,Including two of these sandisk ultra 11 with no problems.

DSG and many places like them are in high rental units, many thousands £ a week, and I've yet to see one where the customers out number the staff, except maybe xmas, and that's one of the reasons their prices are high compared to on line only retailers.
But that doesn't stop me from pm'ing at every available opportunity., although our efforts make little difference to individual store performance and profitability.
#18
they hate me at the local store (i think) but i always go in for these price match's.

well worth the look on their faces.

I've met many PCW manager's with regards to the price match's and I've ALWAYS had to do the calculations for them!

NO manager, no exceptions, has been able to work it out, they even have a calculator by the tills in many places and if they can't follow me on my mobile calc, I've had to use that and show them how it's done. Always takes a fair few minutes with them going over everything and double checking the numbers and even then getting it wrong!!

they do. I have had managers mis pricing their products then giving me a further discount so that the discount given to me doesn't look too large so as to help them appear in a good light.

e.g. take a £30 item that they might be selling for £20 in some other scheme, even though it's not available to the general public or if you go to the normal till they'll still charge you £30 for it... They will put this through at £20 then give you whatever discount is due as per the price match thus getting a smaller % discount figure on the invoice... not sure where they bring the discounted price from but they've done this twice...

Edit your link, it's one of the first results if you search for "2gb sd". They don't deserve the help. ;p

Too right, its my wrong time of month too...geez some people on this forum huh, they expect everything handed to them on a plate  Nothing I detest more than someone trying to tell me I am wrong, when on here all I ever post is FACT.

Whats even worse is they don't even thank you or apologise afterwards!!!!!!

Are you stupid? The whole point oif bringing PC World into this thread argument is the 110% price beat...try READING

We already know that PC World is overpriced, we already have given you the link to the Ultra II at PC World.....are you for real?

I bought it from PC World last week for £3.50 on a price beat as already mentioned, no contest! Since then the price at Play has dropped to £4.99 from £5.99, so once again £2.50 in store at PC World....no contest.

I suggest you remove yourself from HUKD, you have already ruffled a few feathers on this thread, amended your own post in line number 17 to something totally different than is in your own quote in line numbers 20, 23 and 24 to make yourself look even more stupid...and actually I am sure quite a number of people would like two for the price of one on here at PC World...so it is worth it, if you dont like it then butt out.

For your info, PC World is 1.5 miles from my house, and further for your info I have Inlines not a skateboard, not that I use those to get to PC World.......
