Okay, we're looking to buy lots of Sandtex to paint our house. 10 litres of Magnolia at B&Q is costing over £40. You can have 10 litres it seems only in Magnolia and White, colours and you are talking major money.
Went into Pontypridd store this afternoon and at the end of the aisle - they were selling the Country Cottages range - same 15 year guarantee but with a better choice of colours - £26.95 for 5Litres, or 2 for £30! Bargain. Proper signs above it - i.e. doesn;t look like an end of line deal.

If you're painting your house, you know you should use the best like the pros - this is a HOT deal. Particularly if you're after a creamy blue etc

Set up a URL to one of the tins on offer, but this doesn't appear online...yet?

Hate to say that this is not trade Sandtex as you will find trade paints don't have pictures on them (ie dulux dogs and lighthouses etc) also usually these will say "lasts up to 15 years" which I'm affraid is a meaningless statement as 1 year is up to 15 and they can't offer a guarantee as conditions will vastly effect performance.
Still a good price though.

I'm not in the know when it comes to paint, but this looks good, heat!

Thanks for the info G5arry.

I'm no expert but I understand that much paint sold at B&Q and the like isn't the same as from the trade. I haven't seen a Dulux or Crown EVER from a professional decorator who's worked at our house. Always seems to have the name McPherson on it, for those interested. And it's not like milk!

But G5rry, for the benefit of all discerning hotdealers - what's SPECIFICALLY different between THIS Sandtex Country Cottage Paint and Sandtex trade paint of a similar colour? Does Sandtex trade have a minimum 15 year guarantee on it?

No hotdealer wants to waste hard earned on what I think is quality being less than the real deal. B&Q sell this stuff for £26.95 a tin normally - is it worth much less from a professionals point of view?

This is a great spot and good quality paint and as you will need 10 lts for a semi, this is a good buy, don't skimp on the primer though 8)

24 years selling paint to the trade so it is my game as they say.
Most main manufacturers sell trade and retail versions of their products. Trade products usually more expensive but better quality require thining and will cover in less coats. You can generaly tell as mentioned above as retail cans tend to have images (dogs, lighthouses etc) on them.
Macphersons is made by Crown and is a budget paint sold to the trade, similar to Glidden paint made by ICI (Dulux).
Be very careful with these last 15 years, as if you read carefully it will normally say "lasts up to" which actually doesn't mean anything as the only complaint you could have is if it lasts more than 15 years!!!
As for the primer comment above, I assume he means stabalising solution and it is only used if the surface is powdery, just wipe your hand over the surface, powdery deposits stabalize, none don't.
If in doubt contact a trade supplier they will always help even if you choose not to purchase their products.

the paint says guaranteed protection for 15years.

Bonus 20litres for £51 and as G5rry said no primer(stabilizing solution(i bow to your knowledge lol)) needed. thats my house looking smart again, just need a weekend of fine weather now to paint it. Thanks OP.
