I bought a swan DVr last year, could never get it on Iphone or to view it over the internet using DNS. I have got Virgin media superhub. Any ideas guys
#6
i notice you can buy these cameras @£69 for a four pack and it makes me sceptical about quality anyone any actual experience of these?
#7
I bought a similar system to this (but no HDD and only 4Ch) from 'Light in the Box' pre Xmas for around £80 delivered (£80 + del now). Works fine for a basic system. They do several others too Light in the Box

yes the hub blocks outgoing port for cctv. You will need another cable router and switch your hub to modem. It will work then.

You need to go to advanced settings on superhuman and configure port forwarding, no need to buy a new router

Have you opened the ports on your router to allow traffic? where do you live?

I brought the 4ch Sannce CCTV kit last year on eBay for the same price as the 4 channel records all in 960H Definition where the 8 channel only allows one camera to be recorded with the highest definitions. Very easy to set up and remote viewing worked very simple. Camera are very good quality for the price.
#17
comes with all leads? Any way to record sound and video using this?
#18
Come complete with 1TB hard drive so records locally to hard drive and you can remotely download on to your phone, usb or computer for permanent save. All leads are including however i did have to pay out a extra £3 for a extension cable as one was 2 meters to short. One camera can be hooked up with sound but that doesn't come with the kit. you could either changed the whole camera with a sound one or buy an external microphone that can put near the camera.

Heat. Perfect gift for my paranoid friend who believes the Government are Jewish lizards or something or other, and constantly trying to snoop on him.

Any advice on a similar one with 8 cameras and storage included? That one is only 4, and no storage so ends up being quite a bit more

You wont be able to read number plates or have face images good enough to recognise/submit .... research HDCVI

HD CVI is only useful if you already have existing analogue cables installed. The future is IP based systems imho.

virgin is the only network that has a static IP that allows you to set up your cameras on iPhone or android, I done mine before I changed to BT, a decision I regret, if you require assistance you may pm me, as the virgin media people charge for this service I am more than happy to help out for free

I got the 4 channel version of this last year as at the time the 8 channel version did not record in 960H on all 8 channels. I think this one does though. 1TB lasts me over a month so would expect 2 - 3 weeks for 8 channels.

It can record audio if the cameras support it (these don't) or you can add a standalone microphone to one or more of the channels.

Took a lot of setting up to get it to work via PC and android but it did eventually. As a DVR it worked straight out of the box.

Picture quality is reasonable but not spectacular and we have suffered with spiders webs which make night time viewing almost impossible (same problem with most systems using this type of IR). Spiders are attracted to the IR and tend to move in within days. IR reflected off their webs blocks out most of teh picture and sets off any motion detection you may have set up.

Check before purchase that it isn't cheaper to buy same DVR with no HDD, same Cameras and separate HDD. HDD takes seconds to install if you do it yourself.

damn these cameras are too big and obvious to fit in a ladies changing room

hi iv been trying to sort out viewing my Cnt secure h. 264 through 3g/4G but I'm struggling. I understand that I must have a dns or external public up address but don't know how to set up this. I can get my public ip address via Google but all the port forwarding and different ports and numbers is all confusing. I have a virginmedia superhub too if that helps and I'm on virginmedia.any help since you kindly offered. been racking my head for 3 weeks although had the system for 3 years now n always viewed cctvs via wifi

Any help please I have a virginmedia superhub and a Cnt h.264 dvr .can view via wifi on android but can't work out how to configure 3g/4G viewing

Not top quality gear, but to get a full cctv system for this price is a steal that many people will love, especially the remote viewing capability.

You need a static IP address and port forwarding setting up on your router. It's one thing viewing locally on wifi but somewhat more complicated to view remotely
#37
Poor quality cameras had to get a better system

Correct but that is like saying any technology will be outdated soon.... cd's were ages ago but still have a good use. If the image is good now then what does it matter?
