Is there a limit as to what card capacity the 4Gb can take - or can you expand this to 20Gb player with a 16Gb card?

No you can only expand 4gb

So the 4Gb can only go to 8Gb in total where there 8Gb can go to 24Gb and beyond(waiting for 32Gb cards) ? Is that right?

Hard to find info but on Amazon people claim you can expand to 32gb.

I was given one of these for Christmas - it's FAB!!!!

I have the 8GB model. Best sounding player there is currently, especially playing lossless through decent phones.

I have expanded mine using a 16GB Micro SDHC card. You cannot currently expand any more than this simply because this is the highest capacity of Micro SDHC cards available at present. When 32GB cards are available, then you will be able to upgrade.

I have the Sansa Fuze (Larger, same audio processing) - as Pokey says, sound quality is excellent. The only gripe I have when using SD cards is how long the library takes to refresh after updating, yet all in all a top notch bit of kit.

I am pretty sure that is wrong. I have the 2GB version and I use an 8GB card to give roughly 10GB (minus the formatting overhead and the discrepancy between GiB and GB).

The internal memory and the card show up separately in Windows but it's all combined in the lists of Artists and Albums on the device itself.

I think this is a great price for the 4GB version and this is a very good little player. I use mine in the gym.

Plus the screen is like the computer displays in the film The Fly. Which is cool.

Thanks OP, was looking for one of these after work banned us from listening to mp3's on our work pc's.

Reserved one lunch time, picked it up on way home. :-)
