Good Deal, these are really handy and it's not just voice record, you can record direct from the fm radio

I use mine to record the essential mix, so I've got something new to listen to in the gym each week.

Well done for spotting this!

I have just ordered the 2gb version, which is even cheaper @ £19.97 (delivered). No need to get the higher capacity model, as I can just slot in one of my micro-sd cards to expand memory.

The same item on Amazon U.K. is £30.44 (delivered).

Ordered, cheers! H&R left!

same deal also on dixon but their cashback(3%) is not more than currys 3%, Great post!

Probably easier to just use Radio Downloader

Great spot

Just ordered one to replace my Sony E002F 512mb mp3.

Can anyone comment on the volume level? I have read a few comments by customers that the volume isn't loud enough when on the tube or noisy environments.

HOT HOT HOT Great, thanks, missed out on the last deal and now Free Delivery PERFECT. I allready have the old sansa clip and I can't fault it but been running out of storage space. Now all I need is a deal on a large memory card. :-) odie

Lower volume might not be a bad thing, read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_7660000/newsid_7666900/7666914.stm

In the menu's there is an option to switch the volume to high, default is normal. If you do the firmware update make sure you select Amercia as your country, if you choose Europe the option to switch to the high volume is removed (think it's something to do with an European law)

Nice one, thanks for that info

These are terrific little machines - Volume is definately loud enough (especially if you set region to america) and the earbuds are quality with loads of bass.
#13
If you switch region to USA , will this cause any problems with the Radio frequency ?
#14
Awesome kit. I have the previous model, wife has the 8 Gig version of this one.

Perfect for the gym when coupled with a pair of Creative £9 headphones.

The 8 Gig was only £25 at Currys recently I think, and I'm pretty sure it was posted on here.

Not sure though, and regardless, this is a great deal.

I think you are right !! I read somewhere on t'internet the best thing to do after installing the latest firmware upgrade is to set the region to "rest of world".
As you suggest.. setting to USA makes the FM radio fail.. and setting to Europe causes the decibel police to come running !

No, the Yank frequency range is the same is ours....

I have used a U.K. fm radio abroad in USA and it worked fine.

American radios don't have half-step intervals do they? Thought there was some fairly major problem when trying to import cheaper car stereos from over there.

Exactly, the problem was with that particular, inferior make of quality car stereo... which shall remain nameless...

No problem with the Clip+ however...

Just checked, both black and red 4gigs are back in-stock for home delivery and so is the 8gig.

You mean Alpine which is probably one of the market leaders? I've never had one myself but they must be popular for a reason?

Anyhow, knew there was a problem with USA stuff over here, googled it and found that it's only odd steps.

I.e. 89.1, 89.3, 89.5.

Still if you can get round it on these it's a moot problem anyway as you've said.

Thanks for the tip but I've just downloaded this programme and the essential mix is not available for download.

Just got an email that they have processed my order and that it will be posted now.

Received my clip+ today. Will load it up with songs for my tube journey to work.

UPDATE: Put quite a few varied styles of songs onto the player and the sound quality is excellent listening through my pair of Sony MDR-V150 headphones, even better than the iPod Touch that i had a few months ago (sold it). Excellent little mp3 player. I had to update the firmware and the set the language to English and the region to 'Rest Of The World' for the 'High' volume setting to be made available.

Available again for "Reserve and Collect" - picked one up at Reading last night

Had reserved one, but he ended up just getting one from the cupboard - priced at £39.99 in-store but honoured the £24.99 price

They had a couple left there last night

Wasn't sure whether to spend the extra on the 8gb one at Amazon - but I think probably better to save £15 and get an 8gb card

I might sound daft but is anyone else having problems with this MP3 player? For instance straight after I charge it it's fine but when I switch it off and switch it on again it doesn't come on. Do you think there's a problem with the battery life? And when you charge it does it say 'charging' or does it just say 'connected' because mine only says that. And does it ever show up as 'fully charged' when it is or does it just carry on saying 'connected'? And does it let you know when it's on 'low battery' or does it just switch off completely when it's dead?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm only used to Sony MP3 players and have never had an issue with them. BTW, if it is faulty how do I get around exchanging it (ie can I just exchange it in store?) Thank you to anyone who answers! One final question, how can I update the firmware? Thanks again! :)

Sounds like there may be a problem with the battery.

However just to check:-
1) Player only ever says connected when charging - no indication of battery charge.
2) Once disconnected from USB battery should show level of charge (however this was a bug corrected in latest firmware - ie battery was showing charge but was in fact empty).
3) Check battery life - Settings/System Settings/Info and third screen - make sure USB connection is all the way in (yes I know, but may as well check all possibilities). It will turn off when battery is dead no bleeps warnings etc.
4) All you need to know firmware updates etc
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=119
5) If you need to replace - it is the retailers responsibility (they'll tell you to go to Sansa) but by law your contract is with the retailer and they need to resolve any problems.
