Brilliant bargain. This player gives a very high quality output. Well recommended.

Good deal
#3
Got a 2gb one of these.

Brilliant.

Nice price and I'm sure a nice player but the screen size on the spec list is way wrong. If it had a 4" screen, that would make it the size of the new LG Chocolate BL40, which it is not. I believe the Sansa Clip has a 1" screen so I suggest the OP checks this and ammends it.

Great deal got top marks on the gadget show just a pity theres none anywhere near me :x still hot
#6
I suggest the OP has pasted and copied from the Argos website.

Maybe the poster who has to be so pedantic (it is a sansa clip after all) about this typo, contacts Argos directly and gives the company a good old b0llocking. How dare they.

PS. Voted hot. Good little player and a bargain (even with a 1" screen). Note that you can change the volume settings in the menu if you think it is too low/too high.

Its available from Amazon for £29.44 if there's none available in your nearest Argos.

Sansa Fuze 8GB available from Argos for £39.24

He's not being particularly pendantic, just making sure anyone going for this deal has accurate information.

Seems like a pretty good player tho, imagine going back in time 10 years and seeing 4gb for 25 quid.
#9
I have the 2gb, its very good, great sound and very easy to use.
#10
Great price. But be aware the Clip+ is soon to be released with better features and a removable memory slot. Hopefully these clearances are heralding its arrival.
#11
hi im new to hot deals but saw this deal was after a mp3 for my 7 year old son do u think this would be suitable for him ?
#12
Great player - got the 8GB, just be aware the screen on the silver version is extremely hard to see in bright sunlight. There's a fairly recent firmware update that's worth installing if it's not already pre-loaded, but it's generally pretty reliable even without it.

For a 7-year-old - it's pretty robust, and has a volume-limiting option if you're concerned about hearing damage.
#13
ok thanks sheepy ive been looking for ages for a decent one

great stuff, thanks. Can't fault these, we've got a couple already and they're great
#15
bah! i was looking for one of theese but no stock anywhere near me (norwich) booo!!
Nice find tho op!
#16
Nice - but none near me in stock.

I'm looking for an MP3 player for a 6year old girl. This would fit the bill - although 4GB is overkill and I'd rather have pink.

(Renowned tech experts) Darren and Cindy from Hollyoaks rated this very highly on the Gadget Show recently :)

Looks like a good deal to me and the favorable reviews are encouraging. Think i might pick one of these up to use when i go running. Heat Added.

Argos do offer an alternative when looking at this MP3 Player on thier site:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001801/partNumber/5138283.htm - An extra £8.50 and you have the 2GIG version :whistling: lol

Does anybody know what the voice recording quality is like on these? Does it record as mp3 or wav? What's the recording bitrate?
Sadly, this info doesn't seem to appear in the user manual.

Thanks
#22
Thanks OP - have reserved one from Netherfield (Nottingham).

Argos also have the Sansa Fuze (4 or 8GB) on offer (and available in most places I looked).
#23
Very hard to find in stock anywhere.

Just done a quick test on my wonderful 8gb model. It records in WAV (384kbs) and the quality seems fantastic IMO
I throughly raved about the Archos Mp3, but the SansaClip is fantastic it seems in a different league

One recommendation is to throw the headphones in the bin straight away, no point even unwrapping them...
#25
I've just got the last one in the Evesham store, but no others around me. odd.
#26
I was fortunate enough to get one of these for my son from PC World last month for a fiver. He's 13 and has had various mp3 players over the last couple of years but this is by far the best.
Really easy to use, looks cool, sounds great, radio etc.
For anyone who can't find one at Argos it's worth trying PC World or Currys.

Yes.

It doesn't come with any software. The instructions just tell you use to Windows Media Player and use that to sync/transfer music to the device.

I got one for my 7 year old daughters birthday on monday, and so far she is doing well with it.

Only problem I have is the headphones, they are not good and keep falling out, so I need to get some different ones for her.
#33
It is great but very picky about playlists and doesn't work with ps3......boo. Still the greatest mp3 player for gym work or running and very compact for commutes.
#34
Thanks. Just ordered two for my sons from Argos in Long Eaton. The reviews are excellent and far better than the shuffle. Heat added. :p
#35
Great little player - more a competitor for the earlier ipod nano than shuffle IMO. Much easier to load with songs and none of apple restictions etc. Hot from me.

You can actually change the USB mode of the Mp3 player, so that it works as either (MTP or MSC), which means you can either;

connect through to Windows Media Player tocopy files to it
or use with Windows Explorer and drag and dropfiles onto it (my preferred option)

...and doesn't work with ps3.

Have you tried changing the USB connection mode on the Clip to MSC - might work?
#38
great find heat added none in my area but amazon had them in stock for £29 so ordered from them pressie for the wife who wants a mp3 player for the gym

This might help - copied from review on Amazon - I'm just off to collect mine from Argos.

[COLOR=Blue]if you want to use `playlists', you need to do the following: go to Settings -) USB Settings -) and select MTP. Unless you do this, the songs on the playlist will be copied, but the playlist itself won't be. This means you would have to manually select the songs rather than let the playlist go through its running order.

for less than £5 more you can get the fuze 4GB with a bigger screen.

search for it on argos, but as with this good luck finding stock!
