Nice price. Mrs paid £50 for this only a couple of weeks ago.
#3
yep same as above, the other deal just needs to be unexpired.

I've been searching around on the prices for Sansa Clip+ for a while now, cheapest 8gb I've seen, beast for storage when you consider the expandable slot.

I was going to post this just bought it!

Yeah I just picked one up today too. Nice little bit of kit.

For anyone trying to look into these, the Sansa Clip+ (This one posted) is the newer model that replaces the old Sansa Clip. The newer model allows for expanding the memory using a micro SDHC card, meaning you can easily and cheaply expand the memory past the 8gb provided as standard.

For ease of recognition, the newer model is the one with the square buttons while the older one is the one with the round wheel control on the front.

My 2 Gig one cost me £23 in Asda. It is quite superb.

Couple it was some £9 Creative headphones and you've got a perfect setup for the gym.

Got one for the mrs for £40 last week great little player. Add a cheap sd card and 24 gb for around £60 bargain.

a lot better than a crappy i pod and all

These are rated very highly for sound quality. Add good quality amplified PC speakers and you have an ipod/ipod dock beater, for a fraction of the price.

they are fab - Oh has one - saw them on Gadget Show - had better reviews than new ipod shuffle etc.
#12
Sound quality on these is way better than the Ipod and imho easier to load with tunes as I find itunes a pain in the a*se.

They also play FLAC files and the display is great when you are trying out new sounds (better than the shuffle by a country mile)

Stick one of those in for under a tenner and you've got yourself double the storage.

These are great. Apart from the FM tuner which is barely listenable. I use mine with Sennheiser CX300s and it is fantastic. I often find myself sitting there thinking that I don't deserve the sound quality I'm getting for the money! Worth using high bitrate files with.

I've been using my DS as a MP3 player for months since I stepped on my Cowon X5 (which was a excellent player, but pretty heavy/bulky)
I was looking at these for £54.99 the other day and was tempted, £39.99 got my credit card out, thanks op!

Great player - however, make sure that you check it keeps its charge. Turning it off doesn't work - after one night the battery will be dead. Take it back and exchange it and then check that one - these units have had issues with this.

I heard the updated firmwire sorted that out?

So mine arrived in the post this morning. Just transferring some music to it now, I have to say it's smaller than I expected, lighter than I expected and much better looking than the photos portray. The screen is great. Even the supplied earphones arn't complete rubbish, they sound pretty good!

10/10 product for the price. Really glad I got it, and as for the above post about losing its charge I don't think this one will, as it came fully charged up and functioning.

Thanks op!

Edit: P.s. the fm radio works better than my X5s used to, it actually gets the best signal out of any portable player i've ever had, doesn't pick up some stations very well, but i've never used one that does.

Yup

Tried one in the shop, and there was no Folder option in the menus, just Artist/Album/Playlist

Just thought i'd share with you all that after reserving one of these and going into Curry's to buy it, I ended up changing my mind and coming home with the slightly older model (without the expandable capabilities, but still an 8gb MP3 player) which they were selling off for just £9.99!!! This is the model with the round dial as opposed to the square one in the photo. Total bargain!

Its there, trust me.

If you go to music in the main option, then last option in the next men is folder and allows you to browse by folder. Thats how I play my music, so it was a muct for me before buying.

Thanks, I must have been looking at the wrong model.
#28
Its possible it only works with songs on I guess, and there are two different USB modes which can confuse matters too. Once I set mine to MSC I've not had any problems.

If it looked like the one in the picture with a square main button, it is the right model.

I bought one of these and took it back the same day as it is just sooooooooo quiet. Even when hooked up to my car it is easily 1/2 as quiet as my creative vision:m :-( So was very disappointed as it would have been perfect for my snowboarding holiday next week

There are actually different volume settings if you look in the settings menu, and by default it is set to normal. You can change it to high which ups the output considerably.

Also they do the 2GB version for £29.99?
So for the same price as the 8gb version you could have the 2gb (£29.99) + 8gb SDHC Card (£9.99) = £39.98

Therefore £39.98 for a 10gb  ....

Any idea if using an external memory card will drain the battery quicker? I have the 8GB model and haven't needed a memory card yet.

Buying the 8gb gives you greater flexibilty in the long run I would have thought. Im planning on having my most popular music on the player, and then hot swap memory cards depending on my mood or the occasion.
