Excellent! One reserved in Leamington Spa. I will return the 8gb one I got for £36 at the airport as this plus my 8Gb card is plenty as it is just for running.
#4
Just got one at Banbury.

They had no 2gb ones in stock even tho its showing, only an 8gb on display.
But i asked to double check and she found a new 4gb one hiding in the cupboard.

Great lil unit!

Can't find any in Bournemouth area but Salisbury, Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury appear to have stock.
#6
8GB is better value at around £40, saw in a deal posted recently.
#7
This was £14.99 in Currys in Uddingston last weekend.

I have the 8GB version of this, it's a nice little player. A word of warning if you update it to the latest firmware or it comes with it preinstalled the max volume will be severly limited due to some EU mumbo jumbo. When setting up the player set it too US or Rest of world and go into the settings menu and change the volume option from normal too high. The volume will then me much louder.

That was an Amazon deal, posted 2 days ago at £40-41. I agree with you that the 8Gb model at twice the price for four times the capacity is better value. For those looking for a cheap player, this is good value though.

Thanks for that. I have the 8Gb model too and was very disappointed at the sound level. I shall try to set it as per your instructions when I reach home. Darn interfering European numpties! Can't they keep their noses out of ANYTHIMG?
#10
none in sheffield or barnsley:-(
#11
buy the 2gb cheapand then stick in a micro sd card - will still be cheaper than the 8gb one..
#12
Why expire this is still available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#13
just ordered one and will stick in my 4gb sd card thanks for posting deal
#14
It's not just some cheap player btw the sound quality is considered one of the best of any mp3 player.
#15
The 2GB version is better IMHO, best to have less on the actual player and a pocket full of cards, eg. one for each genre, and just swap them. Less scrolling that way.

I think that you'll find one of these  plus one of these http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/639403/pny-8gb-micro-sdhc-memory-card-free = much better value

10gb mp3 for £30 vs same player with 8gb for £40

Well, in MY humble opinion, it is a LOT easier to scroll than to fool around with a pockerful of itty bitty micro SD cards. Apart from their fiddly nature, their size means they will be easily lost.

All depends on how much of a butterfingers you are :p

I've got lunking great big 10-inch span gorilla hands and I've yet to lose a microSD.

A decent case for them all wouldn't go amiss though... I've seen ones where you slip them in like a CD wallet but something with a load of springloaded slots like you get in devices would be perfect, I wonder if they exist...
#19
just got one and loading songs onto sd card , from reading instructions it looks like you can only shuffle songs that are on the actual players memory. the ones which are on the sd card play in sequence , may be of issue to some not me

good wee player for the money and followed advice on setting to non europe Ta !

you can buy an archos one with 4gb at my memory for about £21 but cant upgrade memory if interested

FIne IF they have one within 30 miles of you. The nearest one to me was 'supposedly' 15 miles away but as usual with Currys fantastic stock levels they didn't have one

You must love the refresh database mode, everytime you change cards.

If you tell the player you're from the UK it limits the sound (some stupid EU regulation). I suspect that's your problem right there. Upgrade the firmware and select "rest of world".

I think it says 3 hrs to charge..

I reserved one, but when I went in to the shop, it wasn't 19.97 on the shelf, but 19.99. However the 4Gb one was 24.99, so I bought that one instead.
