Probably because it's not LED - Sanyo don't list one on their website!

thought a led would have a better Screen Resolution then 1366 X 768 ?
#4
It says on the box that it's model number: CE32LD17E-B LED LCD -TV.
#5
It says LED on the Asda website
http://direct.asda.com/Sanyo-32%22-LED-TV/000503361,default,pd.html

(Link doesnt appear to work but i have just seen it myself on the asda website)

It is an LED unit because it is very thin.

Having Googled this TV many times I can't find a review of it's qualities against its main competitors. Has anyone bought one and can report their opinions?

There are 5 of these in Asda Telford Donnington store, hidden around the back in the corner next to the DVD players etc,

I really wanted to get one of these for my inlaws, it's a shame none left to buy online or instore (Bristol).

I bought this today as ive been looking for a while for a thin 32" screen at a competetive price. On setup the built in freeview picked up only five stations all unwatchable. As this is a digital freeview builtin my guess is that it will only pick up stations after the switch over 2012(london) So will have to be patient. In the meantime ive run it through my freeview box and it works fine you might have to turn down the contrast as it was preset to maximum. With two hdmi and two scart, usb and pc connect its fairly priced. Picture quality is really good for 1360x786 no bluring, shadow or pixel break up. In all very pleased with purchase so far...

Ok folkes heres some info.
1. Its an LCD with LED Backlight not an LED TV. The adverts give mixed messages. Do not be fooled.
2. It is listed on Samsungs website but only in the manuals section.
3. It plays **** loads of video formats from USB "DEVICE" including .MKV
4. It states that it may not be compatible with all Usb hard drives so im assuming it does accept USB hard drives. Now thats impressive.
5. Freeview channels are only DVB-T not T2. It does not recieve high def freeview but lets face it there are very few channels that have high def and if you plug a high def sky box in it plays high def from external devices.
6. The menu system is idiot proof in the scheme of things.
In my opinion ASDA has given us an excelent product for a very cheap price. The only thing that I question is to why a company as big as ASDA doesnt advertise the fact that this TV has XVID, MP4, MKV playback capabilities. If its because they dont know a good sales pitch or dont understand what these possibilities mean contact me and give me a job because this TV should be selling ship loads for what it can do.

Just picked one up on the basis of reviews here. It set up beautifully and pulled in 72 freeview channels (in Sussex) Very impressed with picture quality (especially contrast) and the sound is better than I expected. This has a real quality feel and an ergonomic remote but the real shock is just how thin it is. I feel like I have just scooped a real bargain. Thanks everyone.

Just picked one up from the Earley store. At £277 it had to be checked out. What with a ... "28 day Customer Service Guarantee" from Asda, you cannot fault these units. I have called several friends and a few have bought one each also, since this is a phenomenal deal. Hooked it up to the desktop as a monitor and it is amazing, the WII is also superb and SKY comes through a treat.

I know this is on the wrong side of Christmas for getting bargains, but trust me, this 'IS' a lot of TV for not alot of money.
