8M Pixel Stills and 60fps VGA Video

The VPC-CA8 features an 8MP CMOS sensor which delivers high image quality for both still pictures and video footage. The MPEG-4 AVC/ H.264 high compression recording format is capable of recording longer, higher quality VGA (640 x 480) video at 60 frames per second.

Compact and Lightweight Design
Weighing in at just 239g and small enough to fit into just about any pocket, the VPC-CA8 can be easily carried anywhere so you're ready to shoot stills or video whenever the opportunity arises.

Waterproof to 1.5m
A waterproof design (JIS Level 8, equivalent to IPX8) lets you enjoy shooting with confidence in otherwise risky environments such as on the beach or ski slope and not worry about getting the camera wet.

Low light shooting
Records with minimal image noise at light levels down to 4 Lux for great results for example at sunset or underwater.

Simultaneous stills and video
While recording video footage, still pictures can be taken by simply pressing the shutter button. Sanyo's VPC-CA8 can simultaneously record VGA video and 2 megapixel still images.

Digital Image Stabiliser
Sanyo has developed a proprietary correction algorithm that delivers optimal correction of camera shake under shooting conditions ranging from wide angle to telephoto.

Face Chaser
The VPC-CA8 can detect faces and adjust focus and brightness settings accordingly. Faces are sensed even when moving, allowing up to 12 faces to tracked.

Scene Select
Cater for the following difficult shooting situations: Sports, Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Snow and Beach, Underwater, Fireworks, Lamp (low light).

Hmm, that looks very nice, a great multi-purpose camera for people who like to take pics/videos near the wet stuff.

Voted hot.

I agree it would be good for making adult movies.

i have the white one of these and it is really good both above and underwater. Takes excellent photos. I paid £210.00 with an 8Gb card from Amazon 6 months ago and thought that was a good deal. Just checked and it is now £149.95 or £159.95 with an 8Gb card. Bargain!!!
This is a great little camera, I used it whilst canoeing and surfing - it took a right beating with the size of the waves, was a little worried at first as I never fully trust "waterproof" electric goods, but this can definitely withstand a battering from the elements! I want to take it snowboarding this winter, doubt it can take negative temperatures though...
