Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1 Waterproof HD Camcorder RRP of £449.00

Amazon also has this for the same price, few other places also stock it but for over £250.. looks like a bargain to me.

Does anyone ever get the urge to buy one just too see if it really works, im always curious to try underwater electronics almost to catch them out.
Its like being able to be bad with your camera, normally your really careful to not get any near it, this one its like whey hey lets dip it in the water as much as poss and if it fails kick up a stink and winge for yur money back

I got this camcorder delivered to me yesterday. Great price and ok video quality in good lit areas. I have not tried to use it in water atm but it tells me i need to wash it first before getting it wet lol.

Camcorder is a little chunky which is probably down to the waterproof ability

Has anyone got 1 of these and if so, whats the video quality like in or under the water?
#10
It's going to depend on how clear the water is and if you can clip a light on it.
#11
Waterproof down to 3 meters.

That deal is over a month old, so don't see anything wrong with it being reposted and brought to the surface!

I have the TH1 which is the non-waterproof version and frankly it's been a big disappointment. The autofocus is almost unusable; it continuously struggles to maintain focus and very often fails resulting in an almost unwatchable video at times. Even in bright light and with the focus set to manual, the picture quality is mediocre for a 720p device with visible compression artifacts. The digital stabilisation can be quite intrusive during pans, and it's use seems to further degrade the PQ. Switching off autofocus and stabilisation gives a reasonable picture, but manual focus is impossible to adjust "on the fly", since it's buried in a menu rather than adjustable via the buttons, and you come out of the menu as soon as you start recording.

By far the best feature of this is the battery life which is exceptional, and it's a very lightweight and easy to hold camera but the negatives mean I would look elsewhere. It's a shame since the little Sanyo VPC-E6 camera I have had for years is amazingly good, both for pictures and movies, but I wanted an HD camera with more zoom range.
