Excellent cooler and a free game? Very hot. Shame its OcUK mind.

A review from about 6 months ago here.

Their conclusions are based on the initial price in excess of £200 - so this is a fast card (6% faster than reference model), runs cool and has massive memory over clock potential for it's price.

like the fact its vapour x cooling. I'm after a new card sohrtly and there seems to be a lot of movement in the 4000 series pricing at the moment so many bargins it hard to choose, the 4850 x2 looked nice for another 20 quid on pixmania!!!

Sapphire are bringing out an VaporX HD4890 that has a core clock of 1000MHZ if your not desperate to upgrade wait until that card is released as it blows away even the GTX285

I wouldn't say it blows away a GTX285, more like it competes with one, and if the price is lower than a GTX285 it's probably a wise choice for gaming. You have to also weigh up if you want or need the extra features of CUDA and PhysX that Nvidia offers.

Good price but can i just ask where it states free shipping with 50 posts?
I can only find either free shipping with either 250 posts and registered 90 days, or 100 posts and registered 12 months?

Your talking daft there's no way that even a overclocked 4890 will get anywhere near gtx 285 you must mean the 275 or 280 and the best value around at the moment is 2x 4770 in crossfire which comes in around £150 and blows past the 4890 and 275 touching gtx280 and beating it in some cases.

Just some of the graphes (rehosted) from...

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3555&p=1

The author openly admits that the card is a review sample and is more than likely cherry picked, thus allowing a 1Ghz + 1.2Ghz overclock. However, even a more modest 950Mhz + 975Mhz overclock still beats the GTX285 in many (not all) cases

So you've proved that it can compete with the 285, hardly "blows away" the competition though, does it?
#14
lol wtf do people need to buy a £180 pluis grapihc card for, most pc games suck at the moment and it pains me to fork out anything other than £90 pounds for something that is out of date in 6 months.
