Im tempted by a second 1!! Free delivery for Hexus and AVforums members, not sure how much otherwise. Its really worth signing up to either forum for the free postage, scan often have some corkers.

Seems a hot deal to me thanks

Only 512MB versions, but plenty powerful for most games out. Mine plays GTA4 great. Good deal if you get free shipping.

great deal

This card is on a par with the GTX260 which is still around the £140 point, so this is a HOT deal!

If I had a crossfire mobo I would buy a second one at this price !

N.B. ****** Make Sure you update the BIOS on these cards, if it's not been done allready. Reduces temps on card by up to 20 degrees by fixing fan settings ****

this question for anyone guys, i have an NVidea 9600GT, had it a while, thinking of going for this card?

what do you think?

will i see a big enough improvement to warrant selling my old card and going for this?

only been modding pc's for few months, running AMD QUAD 9950, 800W PSU, 6GB RAM.

will i notice an improvement in performance when playing games?

thanks

I have a Gigabyte HD4870 (512MB), it runs at 79-81C most of the time with the fan at around 23%-27%. Pretty quiet, but hot nonetheless. Is there a bios to make the card cooler or is dependent on the board maker (Sapphire, Gigabyte etc)

I paid ~£8 less than that for a 4850 last month, so this deal is absolutely hot hot hot.

I'm using 4850 in crossfire now. I wonder how the prices of the 4850 have been affected - have they?
#9
just bought one for crossfire purposes
#10
this is insanely cheap!!! i doubt these will be anywhere near this price for a very long time after today

This is a HOT deal!

No doubt the village idiot will appear and start moaning about how it isnt a hot deal until under £50....

Voted HOT by me! :w00t:

I think you'd be getting an improvement of between 30-50% frame rates over a 9600GT. It would wipe the floor with it in most games. Just looking at them compared on www.tomshardware.org and the difference is pretty substantial, and thats comparing a 1GB 9600GT against a 512MB 4870. I have this card, its a really good performer.

Fantastic price but the problem with scan deals is the postage really takes the shine but still a good deal but better if you've got a free postage code

You are looking for the second item.

DONT click on the text link (it takes you to the worng deal)

DO click on the green BUY button.

Not a problem - join AVForums & post a few

Also Hexus, but their policy is a bit stricter.

To the others who mentioned Crossfire, what motherboards are you using please? Thanks.

Check out this link:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-gtx,2270-6.html

Tom's hardware suggest that it os only worth upgrading if the card is 3 or more levels higher than your current card. In your case it is 3 levels higher, so it might be worth it if you think you will make use of the extra power. Of coarse there's no point if you can already run the games you play on full detail with high framerates anyway though.

to nobull and nick_sub

thanks for the info guys, i have ordered this card now!

cant wait to max this card out!!

anyone know if this is factory overcloocked or if it can be with card software?

my 9600GT 1GB by PALIT card can be overclocked from 650 mhz to 750mhz without the card crashing???

thanks

This has not expired by the way. Maybe someone has clicked expire because they didn't go through the Today Only link.

btw - instead of using the long method - simply use the page anchors:
