Almost similar to the previous deal, but £10 cheaper!

£169 - £8.81 (6% of £148.96 Quidco cashback on the exc-VAT price)
+ £9.50 shipping
= £169.69 delivered

or £178.50 delivered without quidco.

I think it's HOT as most places are selling the 512MB version for £180+!

They have the 512MB version for £159, but why not double the mem for an extra £10?

Edited: Removed quidco price from title as per complain below.

Good price, but I avoid pixmania like the plgaue - after sales support is the worst I've ever come across ...

Voted cold for that reason.
#2
this is the cheapest i have ever seen one of these,

I have had monitors and routers off pixmania, never had any trouble.

Hot!! :)
#3
Going to wait for the X2 to come down first i think.

Probably because you've never been in need of after sales support. Monitors and routers don't have any moving parts so should last years. Monitors with dead pixels are also getting rarer and rarer due to a continually improving manufacturing process. Try buying something with moving parts from Pixmania!

same card is on scan for £217 so seems like a pretty good deal to me.
Tho ive never dealt with pixmania's cs...

I would agree. Quidco is not guaranteed.

been looking for a HD 4870 for under £200 and saw this. sapphire is a reputable brand and this one comes with 1Gb!! heat added!
#10
any reviews for this card?
#11
Probably get a manual in French as its from Pixmania ;-)

These cards are probably due a price drop due to the Nvidia 285/295 cards being released
(Although NO one has stock yet!)

The 280 cards have dropped a large amount since the release.

Still nice price. Voted Hot.

(I have a 4870x2)

Voted Cold due to Pixmania being a rubish retailer.... Its probably imported and will come with no warranty.

AVOID PIXMANIA!!

Voted hot.
I think there is a £5 off voucher code for purchases over £150 aswell.
I have had 2 gpus from Pixmania but i have never had to return anything so cannot comment on customer service. They paid Quidco aswell.
#14
found voucher Pixsales095 for £5 off
#15
It's a good price, but trust me ... if it goes wrong, you're on your own.

A quick Google search will find a host of horror stories.

It pays to buy from a trusted supplier.
#16
but wouldnt sapphire do the warranty? all they would need is proof of purchase when registered, would not even have to get pixmania involved
#17
If you contact Sapphire directly they outsource their returns process, it's a bit messy ... I'm only advising caution.

Things may of course have changed.

What you'll find normally is if the product is faulty within the first 60 (or is it 30?) then you return it to where you purchased it from, after that you got back to manufacturer.

As most faults with products are likely to be evident when you FIRST get it, you'll need to deal with Pixmania, here you will meet the worst people on earth.

I tell you what, give Pixmania a ring - I bet they'll be rude or unhelpful if you ask for information about a product or their returns policy.

I thought I'd just been unlucky when I was treated like something a dog leaves on the pavement, but I'm not alone.

Oh no! Do the French have different PCI-E slots? :( How will people know how to install their graphics cards? :whistling:

Bit off topic I know but can anybody tell me how to return a graphics card to sapphire under their warranty because the card was bought off ebay and stopped working a couple of months later, it's less than a years old though in terms of release date so should still have Sapphire warranty on it. Hot deal btw I've dealt with Pixmania only for buying an LCD TV and they were fine, although I've had no experience of their customer service so can't comment on that side of things.

Look on the Sapphire site for an email address and email them.

Good price. I have ordered several times from Pixmania without issue, but have yet to have anything go wrong. Anyhow, they cannot be any worse than Overclockers so it gets my vote.

Trust me, Pixmania are the spawn of satan himself. I'd rather buy a nuclear powered dancing sausage from a mexican on skegness beach than ever attempt to buy anything from the surrender monkey run shambles of a company.
