Well it did in my local PCWorld an hour ago, Mr. Negative. There were still FOUR on the shelf after I bought one as well.

I'm well aware of what £xx.97 means at PCWorld. It means BARGAIN!!!!! Everything that goes into the .97 reduction countdown exists at some time, in some stores. You just have to be lucky.

I suppose you're going to tell me that the HP Media Vault mv2010 I just bought for £80 is a figment of my imagination as well are you???

thats great, but I have searched for loads of these deals when they have listed and never found one. I am sure that there were some somewhere in the country and if you found them it might have helped if you gave the store where you saw them. I will be happy to hear that others have found stock but I have doubts because as usual there are none in the south. cheers

This is absolutely crazy cheap for a X1950GT but the "Go to Deal" link doesn't work and I can't find it on the website.
#6
Having worked for Dixons and PC World, anything 97p is clearance and negative margin ie seriously cheap. Most of the time if its decent staff buy when the price list ammendment comes in the morning and new tickets have to be printed with the new reduced price.

Went to 2 local stores and had none available

Me thinks the staff bought them all up as CEX are still giving 48 quid cash
#9
i hate pc world... why cant i find a phone number for my local store! Watford! Ah well, i'm not going to drive there on the whym. Thanks anyway
#10
What is the PCWorld item number for this?
#11
Seems that this card has been at this price for at least a week.
After finding a post dated the 3rd of jan in another forum discussing this deal i dont think many stores will have stock of this

The product code is one i was just going to ask aswell as saves me driving 30 mins to get one
to find none there

I can never understand the negative reaction to stuff like this. PC World are notorious for reducing stuff to next to nothing and I have picked up plenty of bargains there from visiting this site; PS2 memory card £4.99, Doom3 £0.97, Akira UMD £2.97 and many more and just last week a Madcatz RGB Scart box (which I really needed) reduced from £20+ to £2.97.

They may not be everywhere but if this wasn't posted would you now be considering ringing or vising them to try your luck? Remember that withabix has one of these in his hands, no need to share the info but he has. Surely negativity about posting will just deter people from doing it and then we will all miss out.

Give the OP a break, rated hot here.

I am driving past PC World on my way home and I will be trying my luck so I can use this spare Mobo and memory to build my daughter a better PC if they have any in stock!

Re: Tartanarmy.

I just had a quick search after my last post and yeah found several other mentions of it at £29.97dating back to same date. Seem Cardiff and Hull stores also had stock at some point after it dropped to this price. Still worth knowing the item code though if any PCWorld staff are reading this :)
#14
Well i aint gonna go check the last pcworld on my list as it seems i need much more luck to make the drive worthwhile(especially since the fuel alone will be about 5 to 10 quid)

Thanx to OP for heads up good luck to the rest of ya!

This is a really crazy price...:w00t:

product the code is 231553

You CANNOT search this on the website. You have to ring up and tell them its end of line they then search for it. 1st time i gave her the code said it was not vaild mentioned was end of line and she was able to tell they had none at the following. This was confrimed by quick call to buddy who works at PCW.

Leeds Central (headrow)
Leeds (bussiness park near LFC)
Bradford

I ain't even going to bother with PC World.

Last two 'great' deals I reserved from them were unavailabe when I went to pick them up even though I had reserved them.

Muppets failed to contact me to inform me my items could not be collected, so I wasted my time driving down there. I told them that there reservation system was a joke.

Nice find - voted hot. Please don't let the negative people deter you from posting in future.

Based on what you posted there i phoned up to check the last store near me, i gave him the product code and he automatically said (without me saying the store to check)they had none to which i asked that he checked the end of line stock and he said yes and they dont have any left so if true then there is none left nationwide now.

thats rubbish what they told you.
I got my mate to do a global search for other stores with stock. Which every store can do by the way. He listed at least 4 stores with stock.
Salisbury and Chichester were 2 of em

good offer.. shame pc world are useless. phoned up and had to speak to 3 people and none of them had a clue. my gf went into the shop with the product name, number and price and still no luck. ended up getting very very vexed. this was at leeds headrow branch for those interested. voted hot as the deal is amazing just a shame you can't buy online.
#22
does this card need its own power supply?

i have a dell wth a 300w psu and dont want to upgrade, this would be good if i didn't have to upgrade?
#23
Managed to grab the last one at my local PC World :-)
#24
this is a great deal for a superb card - £70 plus on ebuyer
#25
None at Team Valley retail park Gateshead (Tyne&Wear) :x

just thought I would save you a trip
#26
Managed to get one at the PC World in Christchurch, the last one that was on the reduced table. Had to ask a member of staff to check the price as had no price label.
#27
I went to Mile End PC World, none in stock.....
#28
Cheers for the heads up, but no joy in High Wycombe tonight.

Also, much of their clearance stuff is at laughable prices. Really nasty heavily shop-soiled ex-display monitors with £30 knocked off? No ta!
#29
I bought a 32" hd lcd tv from pc world a few mths ago. People might remember it was £249.97. And it was there when I go there. So sometimes it does pay off. :)
#30
anyone got a picture of this i saw one priced up in there for 159.99 i think it was any one got a pic of the box? it had pro on i think tho
#31
Anyone know the best time to pop down to PCWorld? E.g. is there a specific day of the week they put these deals out?
#32
i just got mine in the Swindon store and there was one left on the shelf.
#33
Called the customer services .....sound bloke helped me out after doing number of searches he confirmed they had sold out nation wide....so what ever is onshelves ur lucky.

Good deal heat added.

None at beckton or fenchurch street. Fenchurch street had a few Saphire 1600's for £20 on clearance.
#35
So a few of you did find these!

Excellent - well done!
#36
I think that the electronic stock check at PCWORLD says 0 in stock in clearance items if there are less than 5 (open to correction here). So worth checking with the store.
#37
This is PC World up to thier old tricks to increase footfall on the webiste. Stone cold for me and I think they're fast becoming assclowns.

Hi everyone, long time listener first time writing.

If you buy 2 of these can you put them into crossfire mode, or do you need a special crossfire edition? Does anyone know?
