Halfords are clearing out any obsolete sat navs that they still have in stock - it will vary from store to store but if you are lucky you might find a bargain! Here are a few to look out for:

AA Navigator - £34.99
Navman ICN 330/530/550/720 - £34.99 each
Garmin NUVI 310 - with bluetooth! £34.99
Garmin NUVI 300 - £49.99
TomTom GO 500/700 - £34.99
Navman N40i - £99.99
Garmin C510 Deluxe - £49.99

There are quite a few more, many stores won't have these in stock but it is worth asking or poping in as you never know!

Please post back with your finds!

So are these the prices before the clearance?
banned#17
no these are the clearance prices for the tom tom models in the clearance which will be the most readily found, and as for what a 910 can do, l would consider it very much a bargain.
#18
£35 for a sat nav!! How can this be true?? :w00t:

tom tom
510/710- £130
910- £150
910 deluxe- £130

Not bad prices, but you can get the latest one with mapshare and TMC for £179, probably less with a search around.

So you are telling me i can get the above garmin nuvi 310 for £34.99 for example - i'm just going to set my alarm!!!

what latest one would you be refering to? at that price l presume the tomtom one? that doesent have mapshare to my knowledge but i'm only a part timer so l might have missed the stuff for the updates. But comparing the tomtom one to a 910 is a no brainer in this case, one thing sells it is the fact that with any of the 510/710/910 your also getting hands free calling via bluetooth build into the device. For a decent hands free calling device fitted your looking at about 70-80 quid easy. do the maths and l see it as a no brainer.

yep freers and if you find a shop with them in pounce on it. l know the store im in hasnt had any deliverys out of them in ages so it'll be luck if you find one.

Yeah possibly, if a store near you still has one that is not faulty and it has all the relevant bits for it. Like I have said, there are no guarantees, but yes these are the prices as they are older sat navs, lots of newer ones out now.

Quick google for reviews brings up a mixed bag about the 910......maps & mountings being the main cause for concern

That's a kin bargain if you find any!

Maps should be updateable on tomtoms too. If you are naughty you can download them online and look for a key generator.
#27
Great deal - going to stop there in the morning before Alton Towers!
#28
wouldn't it have been worth just phoning halfords and asking?

Just a little tip if anyone is going to get a Sat Nav (Or has one!)

DO NOT set up your home address as your actual home - This is incase its gets stolen from your car, the thieves will know you aren't at home, and they would know where you live...

DO NOT leave the mount on your windscreen and rub the ring mark off on your windscreen after taking it off as it will makes thieves aware of what you have (in the glovebox maybe?)

Hope this helps!

Nice one, worth a try. I already got my missus the tom tom go v2 off of here a while ago. Im not quite as style conscience as her, so if i got a tomtom 500 at that price id be very happy. Will ring them tomorrow.

That would be if the bluetooth worked well. Unfortunately the internal mic is not sensitive enough for a good clear conversation. Might work in a small spaced car like a Mini or Micra but woeful in any family car.IMHO an external clip mic is required.

I know this may sound a bit stupid but I honestly do not know !
Which tomtom from the list is the best value for money ?
To me a tomtom is a tomtom !

Kind regards

The 910 is the best value! It comes with computer generated voices which gives far more instruction than true voices, a 20GB hard drive at least 6months of speed camera alerts & full european & USA mapping.

good advice from birdyboyuk but the best way to stop your sat nat from being nicked is well.... carry it with you when you get out the car, the 510/710/910 models all come with carry bags so theres no excuse not to really.

If you don't want to have to worry about the marks on the window check out these. I've got one for my One in my Focus and can't recommend them highly enough. Got really good service from these guys

i've never had a problem with the internal mic in any of the tomtoms i've set up/used and i've done so in many different cars and have never encountered a point where the person on the other end of the phone (usually someone in my halfords store as l always phone for demo purposes) couldent hear every word l was saying. Either way you are provided with a clip mic with the tomtoms that have bluetooth so if you need it, then use it, simple as that.

They are out there for sure! Picked up an AA Navigator from Halfords, Ferndown, Dorset for £49.00.... but dont waste your time with this particular store as they had only this one ....staff could not quite believe it either....nice xmas pressy for the wife :santa:
