Blimey, you're on the ball tonight.
Thanks for the post.

Every few weeks we go thru the gripes about duplicate
postings. Let me repeat my view. Nicster8's posts bring
all the offers together in ONE place, that's how I like it.

Thanks a lot, I got a free trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach today because of the offer in the Daily Star last week you posted. Tickets would've cost £128!

OP amended. Daily Telegraph deals have already been posted bythe member and within this thread and also here.

Thanks for the remainder of the deals.

Hi,

It's never a problem when the content is unique, e.g. you're the 1st member to post. However I've now removed another as it's already subject to a thread here.

#7
don't worry, just removed all the deals just in case they've already been posted!

Thread closed, OP strop.

Anyone want to suggest a paper without some Royal Wedding tat freebie? Used to be the independent, guess these days it's the trout fishing quarterly or something.

duplicate - a copy that corresponds to an original exactly (dictionary definition)

Nicster08- thank you for your continued posting of the newspaper deals I have used your posts a number of times to save money and redeem the various offers especially the cineworld offers that you highlight from the Sunday Times.

these posts are a great and popular part of this forum and have been on here for some time!! for this to be shot down in flames because one offer was already posted is beyond belief we dont want to search for each newspaper as the whole point is to have them on one thread collectively.

I hope that you continue to post and ignore the petty comments posted by a certain individual.

THANKS FOR YOUR POSTINGS :-)

So we don't get the Telegraph deals in this thread because they have already been posted separate? If you choose to go down this route many posts on HUKD are "duplicates"

Some ones on a POWER trip.
Thanks Nicster, please keep posting, and ignore the self important comments from asb.
Without OP's like this HUKD would be just dvd and video game deals, keep up the good work.

I wonder what the mod version of 'op strop' is - mental mod? i like mod flop :D
Thanks nicster08 i really appreciate your posting and don't care if it's a duplicate - at least with duplicates more people are likely to see it - and that is the point of this site.
And i do think it's best to have all the papers in one post - rather than cutting out bits cause it's been posted elsewhere
You know what they say - don't let the 'man' get you down!

To be fair to the mods, a lot of individual deals are rightly expired because someone has already posted them as part of a single post detailing a number of items. So why shouldn't it be done when it's the other way round, as in this case? However, from what I've seen nicster08 is someone who tries to post groups of deals and isn't one of those who spams the site so it seems more than a bit unfair for the mods to be having a go at him.

One of the problems of this site is the sheer amount of deals posted. Lots of people don't mind it though, as it highlights one item they might be interested in, but it in turn makes it harder to spot deals due to so many being posted. Because there have never been any guidance on this, if the mods are going to try and start to 'tidy' things up a little, they won't have an easy task, as this thread shows.... not helped though if mods do get a bit carried away!

Well said. :)

It's all getting a bit petty. I for one would not bother to search out separate threads of newspaper offers, but am delighted as ever to see Nicster08's contributions each weekend.

Thanks again Nicster08.......8). Greatly appreciated.

Nicster, sorry for all the slack your getting for your posts. I read your newspaper threads every week and I must say your a better person then I am I would've stopped posting when it all started.

I do hope you continue and know that you have alot of ppl on your side. :)

This was a good thread until it started to be shredded to pieces by the "just doing my job, mate" brigade. As it is I'm about to go into town armed with Telegraph vouchers for a kid's book and some M&S Hot Cross Buns. Knowing my luck I'll get neither, but it won't be due to lack of effort by the OP. Have some heat nicster08!

Thanks again for putting them all in ONE place. Personally, if you duplicate one of my threads in here that is fine by me. It is easier for people to read. Wait for the same moaning tomorrow for the Sunday offers!

Surely this site has a built in validation of postings that offer value, and if this one went hot how can it be moderated on content? Isn't it about giving the people what they want? Confused by this.

He removed the comment I made about him last night so we now have censorship from the scottish guy too!!

There was nothing wrong with this post mabe 1 or 2 things may have been duplicated in the whole post but was good for me because they were all grouped together

peeps remember this is about one mod I find the others fair, its about time the other mods raised this issue with him

Somehow I don't think sharing deals/freebies for the benefits of others, sits very well with the blatant plagiarism and refusal to acknowledge that is going on.

Much better to stick your own finds within the OP and perhaps make a credit in the following post by adding links to other threads where members have made earlier spots.

As for continually ignoring the request to refrain from adding back to the OP, I see you've done it again. This isn't a game, therefore if you disagree with our instructions, please use the Contact Us option.

there was nothing said that I couldn't add them back to the OP...

Back home from town, armed with kid's book and 4 luxury M&S Hot Cross buns. Cheers OP, and no aSB they weren't a freebie but conditional on buying the Daily Telegraph. I don't know what nicster has done that requires all this chastisement. I lose count of the number of deals that are double or triple posted. My take is better too many than none at all, as long as they alert me as an HUKD member. Having never ventured to post a deal myself, the moral of this little spat seems to be to leave it that way too. Thank goodness for the likes of nicster who can be bothered to do so, lest HUKD simply withers on the vine, its empty pages patrolled by lonely MODS.
This post will self destruct in 10 seconds.....

Nicster, I always keep an eye out for your posts, I wish there were more active members like you in this forum that spot good deals regularly. I particularly like your grocery deals. So what if the op included a deal that had been posted elsewhere, is it really doing any harm to be posted again amongst almost the newspaper offers? Wtf!!!
banned#33
The whole point is that threads shouldn't be duplicated, the OP knows the score on this matter given their considerable time and efforts spent on the site, which is very much appreciated.

Given the fact that we have a reporting mechanism for duplicate threads, and the OP is not unfamiliar with the process required for reporting duplicated items, it's unfair to expect a member to be immune and not be subject to having threads/items marked as duplicates. More so when there's a refusal to even acknowledge the original posters of the items in question.

Not really, the advice is the same to all members posting, and it's a case of double standards from the OP in this instance. The OP had the benefit of communications as always, via PM. Duplicating your own items as well as grabbing others without acknowledgement doesn't seem fair.

We don't want the forums to be cluttered up with duplicate deals. That has always been the position, and a reporting mechanism is in place do deal with such matters. Members report such instances and we respond as appropriate.

It's not as if the OP simply posted a duplicate deal. He posted a list of deals and included it in the list as it was related. It wasn't therefore a a waste of bandwidth as he was posting anyway, nor was it cluttered like a straight duplicate post would be.
[admin]#37
Think the point ASB was trying to make was although it's great to have a round up like this, it's fair to thank other members if they've already posted a specific offer individually.

Thanks for posting Nicster08 as always, got the papers to get bunting for hubby's nan and a souvenir glass for her as the old folks are having a party for the wedding. One happy 94 yr old :)
