Here we go with my very first attempt at a deal on mobile phones!! Apologies if this has been posted before - and I am looking for my thermals just in case there is a chilly spell coming up!!!!

Check for Quidco. Possible £90 to be had, but not sure if it would work as it doesn't say on my torn out page that this is available online. If anyone tries it, let us know.

Vodafone have an offer at the moment whereby you "Save £10 a month on some of their price plans and take your pick of their most popular phones for free"
Phones are Samsung G600, Sony Ericsson K770i, Nokia 6500 classic and Sony Ericsson W910i.
What made it stand out for me - and what I think is the great thing about it - is that one of the plans is £30 a month (on an 18 month contract) and that includes 750 anytime minutes, 250 texts PLUS UMLIMITED LANDLINE CALLS. That has to be a good thing, right?
Other price plans are 750 mins / 250 texts for £25 a month. Unlimited texts / 500 mins for £25 a month. Unlimited texts / 750 mins for £30 a month.

I tore the page from the magazine I was reading and it doesn't mention about the offer being online but I have checked Vodafone's website and it does mention it, so I have linked it.
The offer (£10 a month off) ends on 29 February. Call 08080 178 178 or visit your local Vodafone store.
Also available is Half-Price Mobile Broadband now £15 a month for 3GB.
Hope this helps someone.

EDIT : The link I have supplied takes you to not the right page. Just click on Home and then click on the bit on the left where it says "SAVE £180", then click on the tab near the bottom that says "Best for Talker" and you should see it there.

Excellent deal. I would take it if I didn't already have unlimited anytime landline calls with T-Mobile.

Might try and convince my misses to leave her T-Mobile contract for this.

Just tell them your leaving them because you wanted the deal and they won't offer you it. Or if your number isn't that important downgrade it to pay&go and get a new contract.

Also find out if you upgrade in 18 months time you don't lose free landline call.

Does the £10 off voucher last for the entire length of the contract? Are there any 12 Month contracts? What magazine is the voucher from?

I have been using this for 30 months and I have not found any problems even when I exceeded 3000 landline minutes..... Sometimes a single call lasts 1.5 hrs...

It's not a voucher. The deal is £10 off per month for the duration of the 18-month contract making a total saving of £180. Didn't see any 12 month contracts. I tore the page from a newspaper supplement magazine at the weekend.

Hi suni. That link is to your deal from a week ago and it is on orange, completely different to mine. While I appreciate you like your deal better, people have seen it and voted and it reached minus two. Let's let folk compare the two deals themselves. Thanks. :)

Yea, I agree. I thought not many have seen it as not many have commented to vote cold. Therefore I put the link for others to see.... I do not gain anything anyways, neither do you get if people vote hot for you, right?

Voting cold and not leaving a reason for it is a bit of a hot topic (no pun intended!!) in the Feedback forum. Here is one example I could find cold voting.

Now - let me think, what do I get out of people voting hot on my deals?!?!? Do you not get £1 paid into your paypal account for every hot click, like I do?? :w00t: Tee-hee-hee. It just warms the cockles of my heart to know that people are benefiting from a good deal!! ;-)

Do you use over 50hrs every month then? To me unlimited means no restrictions.

I have not noticed it till date if I have crossed it or not, however I call a lot and many are long calls. Who knows, I may be within my limit; hence not getting charged!! Have to check my monthly bills.

Is there a fair use policy on this Voda deal because I can't see one.

it's best to go for quality and not getting cut off all the time if you're in a bad orange reception area - never had a prob with voda anywhere

100 texts is naff - depends on your usage peeps.

If you get cut off during a call don't Orange give you back 1 minute once you redial within 30 seconds after call drops?

How can Voda charge 0.36p for MMS that is 0.11p more then other networks. :x
#25
hi.

does this mean if i get the £25 contract, it'll be £15 a month? Basically a tenner is taken off?

I'm not too bright with contracts :P

Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls is only available on selected 18 month contracts on an Anytime price plan. Each Vodafone Unlimited Landline Call will have a maximum duration of 60 minutes. After this 60 minute period, if a call is still in progress the remainder of the call will be deducted from your bundle or charged at the standard rate under your price plan as appropriate.

So much for unlimited.... oh well just redial after 59 minutes.
#30
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a telephone service provider - mobile or landline - where you don't have to redial after 59 minutes to avoid being charged.
What I 've been wondering is - if you made 750 hours of calls to landlines BEFORE you made a call to a mobile would those 750 mins come out of your "750 anytime minutes" allowance, or is it only calls to other mobiles that come out of the allowance?
Anyone know the answer to this?
#31
If you make a landline call and it's over 60 minutes the remainder of the call will be taken from your 750 allowance.:x (So 70 minute call 10 minutes taken from 750 allowance)

Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls

56. Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls applies to all calls to a UK landline with a geographic STD code made within the United Kingdom (excluding Isle of Man and the Channel Islands). All other calls are excluded, e.g calls to non-geographic numbers, such as 0845 numbers, premium rate numbers, video calls, data calls and voicemail/Vodafone mail calls, including Call Return.

57. Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls may only be used for private non-commercial use and is not for resale, nor for non-voice services. All usage is subject to Vodafone’s fair use policy of 3000 minutes per month. If, in the reasonable opinion of Vodafone, your use is excessive, we may ask you to moderate your usage. If you then fail to do so, we reserve the right to charge you for the excessive element of your usage at your price plan's standard rate and/or to transfer you to the equivalent Anytime Price Plan without Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls. If you have Vodafone Unlimited Landline Calls on your price plan then you cannot also have Vodafone Free Weekend Calls and/or Vodafone Stop the Clock.

That's not really fair is it - unlimited should mean unlimited. Fair enough, having to redial after 60 minutes, but it really should be allowed an unlimited number of times.
I wonder if they are breaking any kind of law by calling it unlimited, then setting a limit on it?
#34
Nah there not breaking any laws after all they state fair use policy. Either ya take it or leave it. :whistling:

That's why I choose T-Mobile when they had that deal no fair use even though they put my allowance to 35000 minutes but if i went over they would just have to accept it.

Only thing is if I upgrade i'd lose my free call allowance of unlimited landline and 10000 7pm-12am midweek and weekends xnet calls.

So I will not upgrade in November.:p
#35
I'd ave earache after 59 mins anyway:whistling: or a sore throat!
