Good deal, shame it's limited to 500 cunstomers
Welcome to HUKD asandwhen :)

Not for everyone.
Must be desperate for customers! :| :friends:
Indeed not for everyone and i think a bit of desperation is setting in.
Just from my own experience....but i can't emphasize enough what a bad idea it is to get this installed.
The box itself has to be one of the most bug-ridden,unfit for purpose pieces of equipment i have ever had the misfortune to own.Constant box lock-ups,sound glitches, failed recordings, extremely slow user interface and changing channels, the list goes on.
I wish i could say it was a problem specific to me but please don't just take my word for it,check out digital-spy forums, newsgroups etc.
Hope this helps someone to avoid the 5 months of hassle (so far) i've had.
I dont know about cabel but i would not touch virgin media with a 10 ft bargepole..saw them on watcdog the other day...but i used to have virgin Be.. best thing i ever did was get rid..just be very wary when dealing with these people plus you pay premium rate for customer support that used to be free..Regards..Anne
I had my V+ box installed back in March..........I think it is a great piece of kit.

Admittedly there are a few issues, though for some they may seem worse than others.I have had occasional sound drop outs on recordings, though it is the exception rather than the rule, and whilst frustrating it does not detract from what the machine can do.I find the menu speed is fine and there have been no 'lock up' issues of any note.

If you are wanting to go for the 3 for £30 deal anyway, this is a great deal imo.

As far as I am aware(from reading various forums) Virgin are aware of these V+ issues and are working on a fix.
Considering that my broadband and telephone line rental currently cost about the same as this package, it is nearly tempting. I could then consider the television package and the V+ as something extra that I am (effectively) getting for free, so that might make the issues mentioned by others a little more bearable.

Unfortunately, 2MB connection for the broadband makes the deal a total non-starter for me.

For those who are tempted, don't forget that you can get £55 cashback via Quidco.
What a bunch of T**ts Virgin are. I recently signed up for the 3 for £30 deal and tried in vain to get a free V+ box. Two months on they are offering it!!!! Im tempted to ring em up and have a go!

I would definately give them a call and ask them to refund the extra costs. If the first droid says "no", put the phone down, and re-call them. Keep trying until you get a result!

Let us know how you get on
I was thought this was a good deal given what you get for the 30 per month - V+. broadband 2meg (unlimited), XL tv package and phoneline.
Tried to get this as an existing customer - no chance.
If you leave and sign up again it won't work as it takes 3 months from disconnection to be classed as a new customer again.
you wont get this as an existing customer unless your 12 months have expired then just threten to leave and you will probably get it and more
Offer now expired.

Wrong - my 12 months contract is over and I threatened to leave.
