The £2 offer has been around for a while but it's still good worth mentioning.

Why cold, I used this £2 off offer the other week when I got Pokemon sun, thought it was a nice touch myself.

Probably because this discount has been around for nearly 4 months now and if you hadn't heard about it already you must have living on the moon.

Or just not purchased a game or been on HUKD when this was posted.

HUKD users certainly have become too spoiled.

Nah they've been on the moon because I get an email from Amazon just about every other day regarding this discount.

I've seen posts on here relisted many times and most of the time they go hot. Monopoly was posted 3 times in one week this month, each time same retailer and same price but all went hot.

Seems to be a trend when people vote cold everyone follows the same direction.

Don't see how saving £2 for free can be a bad thing myself. I checked my emails from December and no mention in mine of the voucher.

I've also never heard of this deal either and Amazon email me every bloody hour

its good to have a reminder. but it should be in miscellaneous section. there are things posted in the deals section everyday, that shouldn't be there. a few years ago these would have all been moved and the op reminded about the appropriate place for certain things. now its just a free for all in the deals section.

they upped prices by £2 across the board too.

I think it's 20% discount in the US for preorders, so £2 is pretty bad.

Saving £2 if the price is more expensive by £5 v another shop = a bad deal

Not always the case obviously

This might help, I'm still a bit foggy if you can order after the release date but:

You can get the discount up to 2 weeks after release... when amazon feel like it, they have randomly removed it early on some games (Watch_Dogs 2), and left it there longer than 2 weeks on some versions of other games (Battlefield 1 Steelbook). Basically it should say on the product page if you're logged in that this product is eligible for the £2 Prime discount.

What am I missing here guys? What exactly is the benefit of pre-order? It seems new games, even big titles, crash in price very shortly after release

Last guardian is a prime (no pun intended) example. It was on pre order for £44 with lots of hype and then went to £25 2 weeks after release. This is an extreme example but most do it pretty soon

If you got pre-order bonus content or even cheaper for buying in faith; that would make sense but neither seems to be the case for pre orders

Competition for sales at Xmas is driving the low prices, you'll probably see most of these £25-28 games go back up to £30-35 in the new year and stay there for several months before coming down again.

Yeah they've changed the T&C's

The offer is available only to Prime customers who place a pre-order or order one or more of the products displayed on http://www.amazon.co.uk/gamesave and sold by Amazon on the website http://www.amazon.co.uk. Purchases made from Amazon's Warehouse Deals or from third-party sellers on Amazon Marketplace do not qualify for the offer.
