It's always worth checking your 'facts' before posting them ;)
If you had then you'd know that even this drive is significantly faster than a WD Velociraptor HDD, which in turn is significantly faster than the HDD most people have in their systems.

dont forget the huge difference in seek times which make ssds faster for boot drives and load times
in most use read and write arent really ever a issue until you move huge files

Or £80 if you sign up on the forums (AVForums) - there is no minimum post requirement like Aria.
Although at this price may get one for the ps3.
Earlier generations of SSD were just not reliable at all, and so, might be better to buy something more recent, unless you want to keep returning SSDs and reinstalling the OS. I had given up on SSDs for a while, and bought recently a Sandisk one: even though it's Sata 3, so faster than what I need, the reliability has not been an issue.

I've been a member for a few years, but I've never ordered anything from Scan. How do I get the free postage?
Edit: I've managed to link my account, bu note that it on qualifies me for free delivery on orders over £50.

Bet you wish you hadnt have posted lol. Mines is sata 3 but its in a sata 2 port. Superb read/write speed compared to any other drive regardless of being sata 2. I wouldnt recommend upgrading the firmware depending on what other hard drive runs along side it. Unless you get issues with the firmware that its on. Ive a Western Digital 2TB HD running along side it and upgrading the firmware caused it to BSOD like crazy. Had do downgrade again which was not fun. The reliability of the Vortex drive are ment to be quite good. Ment to be more reliable than the OCZ Agility 3 but then reliability depends on your luck. My WD HD is ment to be crap reliability but works sweet and has done for quite some time.
