I'm neutral on this one. There was a 500GB portable selling the other day at Asda for £35.

ourdave - Mar 02, 2011 11:52I was having problems getting the free delivery so I did the following:
Logged in at Scan.
Opened up new page and logged in at AVForums.
Scan then popped up a message saying I'm now entitled to free delivery.

Hope that helps someone...I was getting pretty frustrated not getting my free delivery.

Amazon have a 1 TB WESTERN DIGITAL for £44.89 delivered. That's £8 more for double the capacity.

You'll not notice the RPM difference for an external drive - USB 2.0 is the bottleneck

Actually this isn't a portable drive. Seagate themselves describe it as a desktop drive and the tech specs on SCAN state that it's not bus powered.

If you're after a portable drive you need to look elsewhere, if you're after a desktop drive you'd be better off spending a little bit more and getting 1TB.

voting cold as some obviously think this is a portable drive which its not

Got to say that I'm very impressed with both SCAN and DPD who delivered it. Had 3 text updates and it arrived at the time they said it would ( between 12.51 and 13.51 - it actually arrived at 12.53 )
