SCAN - Free Postage offer is Back

Gordon Bell Avatar

Signed up for lifetime free postage last time Scan did & they've always honoured it.

Now its back - all you have to do is sign up for AV Forum.

not 100% sure this is lifetime free postage like last time or not.

On a separate note - Scan claim to have Nintendo Wii due in on 21 November for anyone struggling to find one - Pre-Orders are allowed, but cost is £200+VAT.

Voted HOT. I used them quite often on my last computer build and their CS was fantastic. The free shipping last time round came in very handy!

How what link are you using, cant find it :(

EDIT: found it.
#8
you could also sign up to Hexus.net or bit-tech.net forums to get free postage from scan
#9
Great find, was just about to travel down to Scan to buy some stuff but this way I save some petrol money and time lol!
#10
Hexus is a pain you need to be a regular forum user. Nothing in terms that says that for AVforum, although I have been registered with them for years anyway.

Great post. Rep'd.

EDIT: Also I used my existing AV account and updated my existing scan account and it worked great.

Login to your AVforum account. then click on the "go to deal" link on this thread and the scan link will be at the bottom of the page it opens (should remember your logged in).

Should say "Welcome USERNAME" if it works with link to scan underneath.
#18
thanks always regretted not signing up before
#19
Thanks to the OP

Been using Scan for quite a few years now 100% reliable from my experience.

Also been a member of AV for about the same amount of time but didn't know about this deal.

Nice one. Use Scan now and again.

Does anyone know which service this free postage actually is? (I'm guessing not next-day delivery?)

I usually get my items next day via City Link
#24
Thanks for this. I usually drive over as I'm local, been there today actually. I do get quite a lot of stuff from Scan and as I am already a member of AV forum I may as well take them up on the offer...cheers OP! :)

Free delivery is to the UK MAINLAND only.

As usual Scan are screwing their Northern Irish customers. Used to be the first place i went to when i needed anything computer related, until they introduced ridiculous surcharges for postage to Northern Ireland, haven't ordered from them since!

Good offer for everyone except us Northern Irish so grudgingly voted hot.

"To qualify for free delivery, there is a minimum order value of £20 excluding VAT."

Does the same apply to the Hexus deal?
#28
thanks for post

Don't just be signing upto the AVForums for the Free Postage, its a great site as well.
#30
I signed up for the free postage for life last time , never used it once so far :?
#31
Signed up some weeks ago & placed a few orders. You can specify which day you would like delivery, next day if need be. The terms for free delivery have recently changed. A few weeks ago you had to sign up to AVforums & placed about 20 to 30 posts (amount I can't really remember), but now just signing up is sufficeint.
#32
I've made an account - how do i "link" my account from AVForums to Scan...?
#33
Read the site....

Yes and no - the Ts and Cs that apply are that there isn't a minimum order value, but that if you abuse the system by regularly ordering items with a value below £20.00 they could strip you of the free delivery. Seems fair enough.

great post, i subscribed about 1yr ago, been getting free delivery ever since:) it takes 2 days for free delivery btw, normal (paid delivery) on scan is 1day, but i'd rather wait to save £6+ on delivery costs.
#37
Nice one thanks

when it's all complete, you should get this message on the scan site....

"AV Forums Free Carriage Offer"

"Your account has been updated - you will now be entitled to free carriage courtesy of Scan Computers and AV Forums.

Remember guys, if you sign up for this offer then don't take the micky. You should only really register if you're interested in the forums and will contribute to the community. These kinds of deals tend to finish if lots of people take advantage but as these alliances must have some financial basis don't just take. I was an active member of bit-tech and Hexus for some time which I hope repayed my use of the system.
