Great price for this Limited Edition set!

Next cheapest is £36.39 @ Play!

In the spring of 1980, the Mariel boatlift brought thousands of Cuban refugees to the sun-washed avenues of Miami in search of the American dream. From acclaimed director Brian DePalma, Scarface is the rags-to-riches story of Tony Montana (Al Pacino), who finds wealth, power and passion beyond his wildest dreams... at a price he never imagined.

Tony Montana's meteoric rise, lavish life and soul-destroying fall anchor an epic film that inspired a worldwide following. Pacino is at his most memorable as Montana, blasting his way to the top of Miami's drug underworld in a bravura performance.

Not sure if it will drop more, or sell out. I like the look of it, would probably be a nice thing to display on a shelf.

i'm just waiting for the steelbook to come for £11.97 :)

Just a curiousity, with Blu Rays being so much more storage than dvds, is there any reason to need 3 discs? or is that just a selling point, that they've done some marketing and people won't pay for 3 dvds of content on one bluray?

I know HD takes more space, but still, I sense they're spreading the stuff over multiple discs to make us feel like we're getting more 'stuff'.

More on topic, I really really oughta see this movie, I've played the game and loved it, and I know it's a classic of its genre.

"Triple Play" means they stuck a DVD in there too, so it is in face Two Blu-rays (film/extras) and other DVD of the film.. I don't fully understand the logic behind Triple Play releases to be honest.

From what I understand with triple plays they are good for kids films so that adults can watch one disk in one room and kids can watch in another? stupid as that is thats what someone told me, but you wouldnt do this with any adult film and also wouldnt you watch it as a family in the first place, waste of **** disk imo!

My thoughts were that triple play allowed DVD owners to buy the movie now and if they bought a blu player in the future wouldn't have to rebuy the movies hence making the hardware more attractive and a worthy upgrade.

Does it come with Cuban cigars?

It's for people that haven't upgraded to blu-ray yet but think they will in the future... So you don't have to re-purchase your film collection if you bought triple play AND you can move your old DVD player upstairs to the bedroom and choose where you watch (for example).

MattDX beat me to it^ :)

That's my understanding of what it was originally supposed to be about.
Young kids get the DVD to paw & wreck without damaging the Blu-ray.

Personally I just laugh at this contrived 'instant collectors item' nonsense.
Cheap tat.

I'll buy the ordinary Blu-ray of this when its £7.

Triple play is for several reasons. Those above and for me it is we have blu ray downstairs and the kids have a standard DVD upstairs and the kitchen is std DVD so I need triple play to watch it in the kitchen or for the kids in the bedroom

Good solid box actually, steelbook inside, nice extras, very nice set well worth the £15 i paid... :p

I'm assuming this isn't the humidor version thats usually about £70?
#21
I bought this on release for £44.99 :( Bargain for £25 really nice edition
#22
Not much of a collectors edition if it doesn't come with an M16 rifle & M203 grenade launcher, so not interested. A "My Little Friend" Collectors Box would be awesome and you'd look cool with it in the street or when you open the door for the postman or Jehovah's Witnesses.

Overrated movie at an overrated price.

You jest yes?
#25
Surely triple play is so as you have one copy for home, one for going away, putting in the car or giving to the kids and one for on the move, iPod, iPad etc. would rather just have the blu ray though myself
#26
I generally go for the triple play as if I enjoyed the film and want to share the experience, I don't have to worry if the person I lend it to doesn't have a bluray player, as not everyone has :-)
#27
Best thing about triple play is they mostly keep the value for longer, so if you buy the film and sell it after you normally get a good amount back :)

Great film and ive watched many times since I was 9, over the years understanding it more and more. But I do think it has been overused as a pop culture reference, its always mentioned, sampled, parodied, instrumentals used in hip hop songs, then most of the soundtrack is in GTA 3, then GTA vice city was loosely based around it, then scarface the game, then referenced in many of movies and tv shows, even meet the fockers.

To be honest carlitos way is a better/par movie imo and doesnt have the same over the top buzz.

Comments like these are just really dumb.

The movie is top class. An absolute classic.

The box set is crap though. Steelbook is much better.

The Black Friday price was tempting but I resisted. Okay for fans, but I have read bad reviews for this package.

Comments like YOURS is really dumb. Just because you are obviously a huge fan of of the movie and rate it highly doesn't mean everyone has to think the same way. I won't criticise you for rating it so highly but I'll criticise you for calling people dumb for not liking it as much as you. Muppet.

I'm a big fan of guess what, but if someone was to say it was overrated then so what, that's their opinion and the're entitled to it if that's what they really think.

Anyway, I don't think it's a bad movie but can't understand why all the exaggerated fuss is about it, it's reputation far exceeds it's merits IMO - give me Carlitos Way anyday over it. As for the deal itself, one blu-ray of the movie, one blu-ray with features, then just a dvd of the movie wrapped up in cardboard with a few cheap gimmicky things included does not equal £25 to me.

The Humidor version was only released in the US and is $1000!
The most expensive Scarface Blu Ray released here is the one in this deal and was £40 at release.

Love the movie, but not the price (unless it comes with a real Cuban cigar in the box).

Some interesting comments. In my humble opinion triple play is a sales gimmick to enable retailers to charge a higher price for a product than would otherwise be chargeable for a "single" item.
If you have a blu-ray version of a movie (and a blu-ray player!) why would you bother watching the DVD version?
Each to their own I suppose.
As the deal stands its hot as its cheaper than anywhere else I can see.
