I know this is not a genuine 'Powerball', but for £5 for a ball with digital display, it looks worth a go. Available for home delivery (at cost) or to reserve and collect.

The most enjoyable way to exercise and strengthen your hand-grip and forearm.

Switch on the LCD Revometer, and using the pull cord provided, spin the internal gyro.

The test is to see how many revs you can build by spinning your wrist - 5,000 or 10,000?

As the revs build so does the torque, making it a real challenge to control.

Batteries included.

I've got a Powerball. Bought mines from play.com for £17.99.

These things are really good fun and they really do make a difference. Good for golfers, tennis players, etc...

I got a powerball before these were out, wish I had waited a few weeks for one of these since powerballs are soooo expensive in comparison. Great fun though my top score is 10952rpm, not a world beating score, if you want to see the world champion in action search on YouTube for Akis powerball.

Would need to be Don for true weirdness

I went to a bike shop last week and saw some old parts I'd not seen for years (old BMX stuff), when I asked to have a look at em, my name was written on the box.

Sit on the hand you don't use, it goes numb and feels like someone else is doing it......apparently..!!

I never new this alternative was available. The Powerball was always on my list of must haves but the price was a real turn off.

Now I can strengthen BOTH wrists! ;-)

lol have ordered for my 14 yr old nephew...wonder what comment will be made :whistling:
#22
Was just thinking of one for my 13 year old.

Is it a good or bad idea?
#23
Whats the difference between these and powerballs?

I need to strengthen up my wrists for the gym, will this do anything, or just a gimmick?

Thanks
#24
I bought one of these last time Argos dropped the prices of them, but the display wouldn't work. Could do the exercise, but no way of measuring the speeds etc - which is half the fun.

Had three replacements, and for each one the counter stopped working within about 10 minutes. Couldn't be bothered with a fourth one so got my money back.

Then bought a proper one from Play which worked fine.
#25
my records just over 12000 but it got deleted, its 11604 at the moment

contest anyone?
#26
I think I got high as 13,000rpm but it got deleted and I'm at 11,000.

I wonder how sturdy this is though at £5iver. They can break pretty easy if your not careful.

Its great to sit and watch the football and hammer out your highest score on your powerball

I can last for 90 minutes with no break for half-time!

Phwoar!

This a cheaper version of the powerball they are no way the same i had a go of this one as a freind bought one thinking it was a powerball.
They are poorly made the gyro is often off balanced and are rubbish i have an original powerball the difference is massive pay the extra play.com have them for £9.99.
this is not a good immitation!!!!

looks like some1 has problems then ...

12,423 on my Powerball Neon and it hasn't been deleted unlike these other so called claims ;o)
I would recommend getting an original powerball, especially the neon version as it glows with LEDs and looks very funky.
#34
I got one of the neon ones about a year ago - looks great in the dark! 11000+ is my best so far.

Although I almost sent it back as it took me a day to get the wrist action correct! :giggle:

Although the plastic ends on the starter cables keep getting caught and breaking off - most annoying. Dunno how the world champ starts it with just his hand though!
#35
hey does any1 know where 2 get the cords that start the thing up from ive broken the 2 that come with it now, they are good mind u and deffo worth a 5er
#36
lol @ the first few posts, nice one!!

I havent tried this ball, but the powerball is great so this ones bound to be similar. I reached about 10,200 but then I accidentally deleted it so i'm on 9,850 (not very fast I know....but i'm improving)
#37
So whats the best deal for a decent powerball? Im hearing 5-25£, looking for one that wont fall apart within a week
#38
yeah denvar, don't buy the argos science museum one, it is actually *****, got it home and was ****, called my mate who bought one the same day and he had the same poblem bar he couldn't even get his going as his cord thing didn't come with it not to mention the dead display. We're both returning ours and needless to say are both 16 and so have better ways of strengthining wrists, mass debates.

I bought two of these this morning (one for a xmas pressie & one for me cos I'm a big kid)....just got it working on my third attempt....(very whacky feeling). RPM meter works fine...no probas at all.

Being playing with it only for about 5 minutes & my wrist aches as if I've been watching Frankie Vaughn for a month! ;-).

I'm definitely gonna have my fivers worth out of this at work tomorrow...& if it breaks...I get a refund.
