A selection of films from director Martin Scorsese: RAGING BULL, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, BOXCAR BERTHA, THE LAST WALTZ, and THE KING OF COMEDY. RAGING BULL tells story of middleweight boxer Jake La Motta and his rise and fall. As La Motta rises through the ranks to earn his first shot at the middleweight crown, he falls in love with a girl from his Bronx neighbourhood but his irrational jealousy threatens their relationship and his career. Martin Scorsese's NEW YORK, NEW YORK is a sparkling, nostalgic look at the big-band era of the 1940s, as well as the MGM musicals of the 1940s and 1950s. The story concerns Jimmy Doyle (Robert De Niro)--an aspiring saxophonist--and the ups and downs of his relationship with singer Francine Evans (Liza Minelli). BOXCAR BERTHA tells the story of a young girl who--after watching her father die in an horrific crash--gains revenge on his boss. On the run, she joins up with gangsters and train robbers in a remorseless campaign of crime. THE LAST WALTZ features the farewell concert of The Band on Thanksgiving Day, 1976, and contains performances from some of the most influential bands of the day. THE KING OF COMEDY tells the story of a man who will go to any lengths to achieve his dream. To obtain a spot on a top TV show he kidnaps the host with the assistance of one of the host's obsessed fans.
