Hi
Thanks for posting. And welcome to HUKD.
This merchant is Travelzoo and not De Vere Barony Castle; please be careful not to create duplicate merchants when submitting a deal.
Emmajk42 / Juliet_Bravo wrote a couple of very comprehensive and excellent guides for newcomers to HUKD here: - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/145906/newcomers-advice-on-hotukdeals-gene/

They are well worth taking a look at.
Again, thanks for posting, and welcome to HUKD.
Kind regards Andy

Thanks for the tips Andy.

I know you must book by tomorrow, but it works with the free days out in Scotland deal 28 / 29 Nov 2009, (although 28th is a black-out):

I just booked for 29th and 30th Nov.

No, just lunch in Leith on one day:
"Freebies are:......

2-course lunch with a glass of house wine at the Malmaison Waterfront hotel in Leith, Edinburgh

if you go during the week you are likely to be surrounded by ambulance staff.

Confused, why is that then?

This deal is actually better than suggested. Book 1 room and it's NOT £99PP it's actually £99 per room for the 2 nights!!!

Stayed here on a few occasions. Superb hotel set in beautiful countryside.

PS It's the St Andrew's Ambulance training HQ. They are indeed always floating about.
Helpful when you're struggling for air on the treadmill.
#9
Even if it's a bit last minute somebody may be able to take advantage of it.
Great deal so voted hot.

Yes. You're right. I'm sorry as I misunderstood this offer. Only realise when it came through as £198 when booked.

Sorry for any confusion folks.

I`ve found a few dates no probs to be honest. Thurs 1st Oct for 2 nights is available.

Couldnt find any for a Friday & Sat stay though.
#17
It is £99 per night on the TZ deal
#18
Just to be clear on this. This may be a castle of sorts but it doesn't really feel like one. The rooms are worse than a travel inn and the bar feels like a travel inn. We paid £10 for one night in February this year and it was just about worth that. Save your money and wait for a special offer at another De Vere hotel in Scotland. Cameron House. They are in different leagues. You'll sometimes get 2 nights for £200 at Cameron House.

Just booked Fr-Sa mid October ..

One thing is not clear to me from the description though, the lunch - is it every day or one of the days, which one in this case ?

No £99 per person for two nights - 1 person £99 or two people £198.

Why No ? Yes ! My example was for 2 adults .. £180 meant to be £198, a typo ..

Carleast, Far be it for me to disagree with a hotukdeals poster with such great taste in Football teams, but these seems to be a significant conflict between both of your oppinions here. There is quite a good deal of extras here too and I have booked. Thanks for your info though. :p

gutted I would have booked but I need something for the 5th of november!

I stayed on the same deal last year and really enjoyed it. The paramedics use one of the conference rooms for training but other than see a few people in uniforms walking around during the day it was no proble. We certainlt were not surrounded by ambulance staff.

Voted hot booked 15th nov

Absolute rubbish - "just about worth £10" "rooms worse than a travel inn" "bar feels like a travel inn".

Dont know if you had a bad experience when you stayed but I have stayed there several times and it has been excellent on every occasion. Cant do enough for you - one example was the last time I stayed my son was unwell and we asked the reception where the nearest pharmacy was. They asked what I needed and got it for me and did not charge me for it (it was only a few pounds but it is the principle that matters).

Far better than a travel inn, nice food and facilities. Comparing it to Cameron House is unfair as it is billed as a very high quality hotel (and if you got 2 nights for £200 you certainly wouldnt get the extras)
