I thought 5 L of car screenwash not a bad price from lidl in Liverpool for £1.49. Please be gentle with my first post. Thank you

Nice one
#2
Is this the ready to used or does it need to be mixed with water
#3
No need to mix it says on the use guide

Amazing deal. It's supposed to be £4.99 from Thursday. I haven't seen any left in any stores around my way though. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/5-litre-screenwash-4-99-lidl-from-t/845574

Maybe because it's not available till Thursday 13th.

Sorry I meant from the last deal on it which wasn't too long ago. Presumably this at £1.49 is from that deal so I suspect availability will be poor on this deal and most will need to wait till Thursday and pay £4.99.

I suspect this is not the screenwash which is meant to be £4.99. As a manufacturer of screenwash (and other) products I can tell you that the raw materials required to make something which protects to minus 60 would be at a cost that would make £1.49 sale price at least a 50% loss. At £4.99 the consumer is getting a fantastic bargain (just better hope there are manufacturers out there to make it for you in the coming years - the margins make it barely worth while!)!

Car shampoo, wouldn't recommend putting that in the screenwash bottle.

Oops sorry I'd thought it was car shampoo - best to ignore my post - must've had too many :)

In that case, it's readymix, not the -60C stuff. Still a good price though.
#13
As above this is ready mix, the £4.99 stuff for next week's offer is highly concentrated.
#14
I don't understand this one. Liverbird1 says there's no need to mix it, which suggests diluted. Talksalot81 confirms that from a cost perspective it probably isn't the concentrate. But the link from anewman points to a £4.99 bottle that is undiluted. So are they two different products, or is it actually a pretty good price for concentrate?

Liverbird1, is the one you bought the same one that is pictured in the £4.99 deal?

Edit: OK, looks like at least two others are thinking the same way I am! :)

I was in my local Lidl yesterday and there was no screenwash so perhaps some stores have left overs from another offer?

I suspect this is ready mixed stuff rather than the offer for concentrated stuff available from thursday onwards
#16
Yes.... got some..... works well and good price but beware as some stores only have the 2,5lt bottles so you're paying twice as much on these. Think I'll buy a couple more as stock for the year.
#17
cold - its not concentrate.
#18
Just check the bottle for temperature guarantee (if not there leave it!). Chances are this will be OK in summer but no use this time of year. Seems unlikely that it's the -60 stuff in the next offer.

Why do people have so much trouble understanding the differences between different bottles of simple stuff like screenwash?

No it's not the same one in the pic it's a square tub. (Summer & Winter, W5, carcare, ready to use, screen wash, removes dirt, grime and insect deposits) that what is says on the tub and sorry for the late reply

W5 stuff is OK but if it's readymix stuff and doesn't quote a temperature on the bottle just keep it for summer - you won't thank them when you washer system freezes solid in the next cold snap. You won't be able to replace it until it thaws again. Technically you could even be in breach of the law if your washers aren't working (though that would seem excessively harsh). What's more important is that you won't be able to see where you're going!
#22
I agree...some of the temperatures we've been having recently, you really have to be careful the stuff you buy!!!....you would be just as well washing your car with some stuff!!

thanks

Isn't this the product a certain nanny used to try and poison Ann Summer's CEO? I was just reading about it and chuckled when I saw it posted here.
