Are these sturdy? I would imagine dropping 2.59m in 0.1 seconds might be a little scary if not.

2.59 metres is ok but if you need a slightly longer one you can get the 3.85 metre version for £85.99 from a seller on amazon

Cold - check this out!! Good deal normally. Should have gone to SpecSavers!.....

And there's even one for under £70 that's bigger than this. Not knocking the deal though as half price is half price - so theoretically would be good.

Well this is the 'Home Edition' which suggests occasional use around the home or workplace. Probably not up to professional everyday use by surveyors etc.

    I've got an old type,
makes me nervous as it collapses if you don't extend it properly

    fits in the boot though

The ones on Amazon are cheaply made Chinese copies; I wouldn't risk my limbs with those. The Xtend ones are supposed to be good, much better than the Chinese copies, although I've never used them myself.

To vote cold on these based on Chinese copies is unfair as you are not comparing like for like.

    Voted Hot.

    Compared to eBay? eBay sucks.

    Hot deal still...

Sorry guys didn't mean to repost it, I was just playing with the little boxes....

I have an extend and climb ladder, I've had it for 3 years + and use it almost every day.

It works superbly, doesn't flex even when faced with my ample bulk. It's never missed a beat, just starting to look tatty due to all the labels coming off.

I also have a cheap version bought as a spare.

It doesn't always lock into position and it flexes quite badly. It was half the price of the Xtend and climb, but I put it away in the shed and it hasn't seen the light of day since.

False economy to go for a cheap ladder, go for the Xtend and climb while it's on offer.

Note, these are not much use for decorating. If you get paint on the extended ladder it will be difficult to compact it.

Hope this is useful to someone.
